Since I am buying a new computer next month, maybe anyone could give me the names of some cool games? I mean like FarCry or Half-Life 2 or S.T.A.L.K.E.R. or Quake 4?
I hope I did'nt name them all.

Cheers!

Jeff

I'd recommend Stalker, one of the few modern games that's worth the money imo.

No, get BF2, but not BF2142 .

Oblivion, BF2, Company of Heroes are my 3 favorite games.

prince of Persia warrior within, shining wisdom, whole tomb raider sceres except fore legend, most old 2d sprite games but not so old you cant save. i HATE fps games thay are all exactly the same, thay are a pathetic excuse for saving doing abit more carictor animation and modaling.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R is absolutely terable!

learn blender, you will never regret it.

no stalker is different than other fps games.

for most part, yes fps are generally the same but there are a few that you should still play.

I also hated fps games before I played Half Life 2

Stalker is a hybrid of an fps and an rpg

you should try it

favorite games

morrowind - i loved that game for years and i still do

also with the graphics optimiser, morrowind can strain even some pretty powerful machines.

oblivion has its ups and downs, over morrowind but its also a great game, i even consider it a piece of art. not as unique as morrowind though

HL2 the first FPS game i really loved enough to play it more than once

Stalker they could have made the game way better i know they could but i still enjoyed it.

Spore- ive been to the future, wars will be starting because of this game.

dont hate people who rip you off, cheat and get away with it, learn from them

at the moment it is Runes of Avalon. CIV III, HoM&M V, DUne 2000 all good, and that flash game where you whack the guy on the bike with a bat to see how far you can launch him.

As you want recent games, I'll pick some of my favourites from now.

Prey - that's a pretty awesome first person shooter - very well done

Half Life 2 - I can't get over how good this is, great plot, great graphics, great gameplay, great sound, great atmosphere, great amount of weapons, great physics (The gravity gun is fun) - it has it all. With that you get all of the Half Life 2 mods and the up coming Episodes (with Episode 1 already out and Episode 2 on its way)

Doom 3 - I kid, I kid, I hate this game I'm afraid - gets boring after a while and the ending is worth the hours you put into completion.

Call of Duty 2 - good WW2 shooter, doesn't bore me in the least and has good variation.

Echoes - Another DBPro game, I never thought I'd like arcade shooters, but I love this one, it's so addictive and free.

Hitman: Blood Money - Only played the demo, looks pretty good, I love the previous games, so it's a good stealth assasin action game.

Devil May Cry 3 - Been playing this recently. though not an FPS, it's a good action game and pretty fun to play.

FEAR - Looks pretty good, only played the demo, was immediately satisfied, there's plenty of action there.

Hope that helps.

Farcry is a pretty good game, good graphics from the last generation, the water is pretty cool to look at, good game play, the enemies have their own intelligence and it's a game that's good if you don't like to be seen - vehicles are fun as well. I've not played that much of it though - but if you want its style and a game that's similar in some respects, wait until they release Crysis, that game looks totally freaking awesome - but I don't know what spec it'll be for (Or what the spec of your new PC is), but I'm pretty sure it uses DX 9 so if you don't want Vista, I'm sure it'll be out for XP.

Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX9 with Windows XP / Vista

Recommended Requirements
CPU: Dual-Core CPU (Athlon X2 / Pentium D / Core 2 Duo)

Quite likely, I don't know how fast you processor will run - I'm pretty sure most Core 2 Duo will run at least 2.8ghz. It say your RAm is fine, but I wouldn't always look at minimum ram - especially if you have Vista, but if they release a demo, it might be worth running.

Yea I'll stick in another 512MB RAM, no problem, I'll be probarly running WIN2k, hoping no problem, but i'll see. Else I'll buy Vista and XP and make a Duo-Boot, so you can select wich one to open on startup.

Crysis is an X10 game I believe, which means you need an 8 series card from Nvidia, or one of the X10 cards from ATI
