E3 is... here, and there are over 450 new games being advertised. I personally think that the ps3 game Haze will be amazing, so will the 2 new halo games coming out, halo wars and halo 3. Hellgate: london looks interesting. For rpg er's weve got the witcher and space seige. Etc, etc, etc. Gamespot's E3 pages provide all the info you need. What are you looking forward to?

I can't really say anything until the game is released--- sorry. Really excited to see the press' reaction to the two versions of the game though!

Pathetic, but I'm just looking forward to Switchball on the Xbox 360 Live Arcade. I really enjoy playing the PC version.

*gasp*, mere screenshots don't do that game justice, you have to watch the videos! .

COD4 and Assassin's Creed were the best of MS's demo probably, although Halo 3 looked good. Little Big Planet looked awesome from Sony, and Killzone also looked nice...

New MGS4 trailer was just more of the same, starting to get really boring.

Best of show for me would probably be COD4 then Mario Galaxy then Little Big Planet.

Very dissapointed with Haze and Drake's they both look very generic.

New Mario Galaxy screens, graphics are awesome:

Assassin's Creed looked boring to me. Seems to follow most other stealth 3rd person games, but with a fresh coat of paint. Sneak, attack, kill, repeat.

Except it takes place in an entirely recreated 12th century Jerusalem, Acre, and another city, as well as the places around it. I've never played a Middle Eastern medieval assassin game. Also, you can climb on anything you can see, the combat is realistic (as in you can't get hit 10 times), and the interaction and AI is much better than most other games. The graphics are also amazing, especially with the huge world. I've also never played a game where you have to hunt down and track you're target before killing them, and where you actually have to think of how to kill them and escaping. So if all of that is considered "a fresh coat of paint", I guess you're right .

Burnout Paradise looks amazing! Drop dead! Funny, EA really has a great looking lineup. Army of Two, Burnout Paradise, My Sims (which looks like it will give Animal Crossing a run for its money), Rock Band, NFS ProStreet, and of course the Half-Life 2 Orange Box or whatever its called.

I'm also excited to see the number of indie games that have been busting through onto the scene (Switchball, Everyday Shooter, etc.) Also, Geometry Wars Galaxies and Mario.. umm... Galaxy look to be awesome as well.

The press conferences were *very* disappointing I think. The Nintendo one was boring, and the Microsoft one felt like I was being sold a used car at a cheezy car lot. Haven't had time to look at the Sony one yet.

atm I'm really out on what is "best of show" really
what I mean is, there's not really been anything new.. there were a couple of new announcements, but nothing that's made me go "wow" yet.

that said i'm about a day behind. was suppose to fly out yesterday only in the end didn't feel up to 2 long-haul flights less than a day apart; especially given I'd already done that on the weekend.

Mass Effect is certainly looking better now, CoD4 looks quite promising; and must say with the exception of the whole weird control system being reported, Assasins Creed looks like some good function. The whole "Free Running" aspect in particular, something no other game really has. Not sure how well that'll work in reality though.

Some interesting announcements, like MGS4 is no longer a true PS3 exclusive as there will be a delayed release XBox 360 version. There's still a rumour about the same happening with Final Fantasy XIII. As well as despite Square-Enix denying it a few years back, there is going to be another FFVII title. (only based on the Advent Children film rather than the original game)

LittleBigWorld looks good, only same old trailer shown as from PS3 launch. A few games have not just moved to multi-platform from PS3 but actually moved from the console entirely.

The new game Lost Quest (from the FF creator Sakawichi(sp?)) definately looks like an awesome new 360 exclusive.

Halo 3 is definately gearing up for launchtime, with a cool new trailer; but now we've gotta wait for the damn thing. On the plus side there's about 28 guarenteed titles for the 360 between now and chrismas which is quite awesome.

Splinter Cell Conviction unfortunately looks too far removed from the rest of the series.. too Borne Identity or The Protector for my liking. Unfortunately I think that whole style of game is going to be big next year (Assasins Creed for example is similar only set in the past).

As I said, still yet to see anything that really grabs me. Although some of the Nintendo news was quite interesting.

I actually think I am totally a casual gamer now. Almost *none* of the big ticket games interested me. They all looked "samey". Oh look, a 3rd person shooter. Oh hey, another generic 3rd person hack and slash. Oh wow, there's another arcade fighter. *dies*

In the long run my lack of taste for mainstream will end up saving me a lot of money. That being said, those casual games are usually cheap, but I end up buying like 5 $19.99 games at a time, rather than a typical big budget $59.99 game.

Argh. Anyone else think Jade Raymond is hot?

If you're talking about Assassin's creed then you have problems .
But I agree with you about Jade, apparently when she came on stage at E3 there were more than a few wolf whistles...

Didn't they, er, confirm the exact opposite?

Apart from there wasn't a LBP trailer at PS3's launch... and this was a new trailer...

I've actually changed my mind over LBP. Once you get over the graphics and the unbelievable coolness of it, it's kind of like - what's the point.

I mean is the point just to get to the other side of the screen? There's not really any game there...

I saw a couple of gameplay videos on assasins creed, and it looks good, the kill animations are really cool but... i think that the enemies circle too much, letting you pick the time to attack. And also they oddly stay in the same circular formation. If the fighting was more realistic id probobly go for it, but other than that it looks like a good game. Animations flow a bit choppy too, but that will be fixed; its only an early video.
And i have the ps3

Yah, I find it hilarious that so many people are slamming Assassin's Creed for the bugs. Hello, the game is not out yet. Of course it has bugs

And how about that Sony PS3 stunt? They reduce the price, then Jack Tretton said the discount is for the 60GB model which is discontinued and will be sold out around the end of July. 80GB model is the original price. Smooth, Sony. Way to instill that customer security

Haze probably.

The PS3 "price drop" was a joke, imagine if their big news had been "20GB ExTrAAA!!" - which is basically what they did, no one would have cared.

Trying to get the phrase "price drop" out into the media I guess.

Crysis. No sky boxes/spheres. 16 kilometer view distance. Every tree, house, vehicle and object that would be realistically breakable is. you can pick up anything than can logically be picked up such as branches and cans and even people to use as human shields. Also the sun and moon are dynamic so they move across the sky causing soft shadows. 3d oceans and 3d clouds. Adaptable suit abilies and costumisable weapons and a realistic zero g environment.
Halo 3 and Metroid and most of all the games except assasins creed and COD4 can't even kneel to that kind of realism.
