There's like 2 murders per day in the UK, your bound to have one happen close by eventually.

We're going down... in a spiral to the ground...

Near where I live, police shot and killed a man who was wielding a sword and shotgun. This happened about a year ago I think.

Just down the road in basingstoke, the parts of a man were found strewn around the city, including his severed head in a local childrens play park. He'd murdered his mate (obviously not a close mate) with his katana and then chopped him up into little pieces, driven about and thrown them out of the window or something!

So ALL video games are to blame, not just the violent ones. Obviously that chappy had been playing paperboy.

I was ready to response "And The Rest!" and then thought I should check before assuming... You're not far off...
http://www.crimestatistics.org.uk/output/page40.asp

05/06 saw 765 homicides - 52 of which were 7th July related.

However, according to Wikipedia, UK has a 2.03 homicide rate per 100,000 inhabitants... That's NOTHING compared to Venezuela with a homicide rate of 42 per 100,000!

I shot a stop sign with my copper b-b rifle and it bounced off the sign and hit an old lady in the leg.

Yeah, but they did try to drive a car into an airport. Not as if we all live in the UK sucking on pipes and saying evening Jethro to the local farmer, with no murders or the like. Even where I came from in Anglesey (middle of nowhere) you used to get a few people dying from knives, guns, cars etc etc every now and again. The burning car under the bridge when I came to live near London (Ascot area) was a bit of a surprise for a country boy like me though...

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

They only did it because they knew they would wind everyone up Therefore, they still win even though nobody got hurt

I watched the police raid houses and carry out controlled explosions from my student house in Leeds after 7/7. I never felt unsafe, I figured that if they came from Leeds, Leeds was probably the safest place to be.

hehe I meant, people were more concerned about their holidays being delayed than a car ramming the airport. I didnt mean they were 'most annoyed' just my bad English.

I know someone who was shot through the face. It was some gang initiation in Memphis, and the bullet went through her face into her friends head and killed her friend. It was my drummers grandma. Well...not drummer anymore, but a friends grandma. She lives normally now actually. Which is surprising. I'd be shocked if i were shot through the face(cheeks).

I lived in a remote town with 35 people for 15 years, and someone was murdered once...50kms away. Some guy did hang himself though.

Can't be a very big gang if the initiation involves getting shot in the face.

I went Over the Rhine (Cincinnati) to do some community service once. There was a group of people just standing on every street corner. Made it difficult to concentrate on picking up trash.

And where I get my haircut there is a bullet hole through the window covered with a bit of tape so rain doesn't get in. Barber says it was a very good job no one was in the chair getting their hair cut at that moment.

Just hope you're not unlucky.

I agree with Hobgoblin. That is nothing compared to where I live... In fact, I was even strangled and almost got shot (Not much compared to others).

No offense, but I laughed when you said you didn't feel safe. Course, then again I do happen to sleep with 3 swords, a metal pipe, a custom dagger, and a cheap dagger in my bed.... <But I feel perfectly safe... Who wouldn't. >

Edit
You'd be amazed at how many murders there are in the cave I program in! lol!

Cheers,

-naota

I watched this movie once, and it was like a western (a modern one). This guy got shot through the cheek and later on in the film, after the gun fight, he took a swig of water from his canteen, and it showed the water leaking out from the gun shot holes in his cheeks! I wonder how the special FX team did that.

^I saw a relative new asian movie called "Ichi the killer" (it's a pretty sick movie). There was a person there with holes trough his cheeks and when he smoked a cig, you could see the smoke coming out from his chin-vents.

Also in the movie "munich", a guy gets shot with an AK trough both chins. Can't imagine how that must feel, not the physical pain, rather the mental one.

I'm happy i live in a pretty quiet town, it's alot like Hot Fuzz actually. No crimes here, just alot of accidents, lol.

Being insane, old, commie, gay and stupid is just my DBP forum image, in reality i'm somewhat normal. Altough friends and family would disagree.

I heard about that one. I'm just up north in Medina (Hinckley). We don't really have many serious stuff happening but back before we moved to Medina, there was a crazy ex-boyfriend who came to his girlfriends house on the street behind us. He shot up her car and slashed the tires and stuff or something like that. We heard all the gunshots and everything. If I had been looking out my window I probably could have seen him do it.
