Can someone recap where we are at then?

There's no point having a community wiki and another big help website, that's such a waste of good helpiness.

Has Jess got a load of help files then, that could be integrated into the wiki?

I just want there to be a one-stop-shop for EVERYTHING TGC related, easily navigated, nice to look at. If that means having sections of the wiki that are locked off (for editing) to the general public, then that's fine.

How about we do something like this:

- Product pages - give details about each TGC product
- Command help files - complete online help files for DBPro.
- Tutorials - a collection of the best sets of tutorials
- Games - people can make pages for their games, provide info a download link etc. (DBPro/FPSC)
- Community stuff - pages about the convention, the forum stuff like that

EVERYTHING should have a very strict template.

Sounds good to me, although we'll have to keep an eye on the games pages as we don't want it to get out of control and just become spam or uBer MMORPG team request pages.

You could insert all of those categories on the wiki's main page where it says:

Quote: "TGC Products
C++,C#,PHP,Java,Etc
3D Articles
All Articles"

edit: btw. we need to have some FPSC users working on the FPSC page, they would be more suited to the job as they know more about it. If you want, I'll post a request on FPSC chat.

@Chris, I agree that there should be one complete system.

When I get back from Asia at the end of August, I'll figure out a way to integrate the content into the Wiki, of course with input from the community. In the meantime, I will place the current version of his site alongside the Wiki before I leave next week.

Alright, everybody. I've uploaded Jess' site (which was incredibly painless due to his keeping everything nice and organized ) --> http://www.codercafe.com/dbhelp

This is the original version, and Jess has sent me a few other versions I can take a crack at putting in if there's a demand. I like the way it looks now, so maybe there's no need Anyways, I'm leaving on Wednesday for the hermit kingdom so I will work on this more when I get back. Enjoy for now!

EDIT:

Just noticed that 'Codes' doesn't lead to anything interesting. To get the DB command pages you will have to click dbpHelp then one of the SubNavs like Sections, All, etc. Not sure why this is, and I will take a looksie at it when I get back.

Ahh, my baby.

I missed it

Thanks Jake!

The 'Codes' section was meant to be a code-base like system that I never got around to.

The stats page, btw, is now http://www.codercafe.com/dbhelp/?nav=stats since it is no longer jessticular.dbspot.com

Enjoy, everyone!

Why use a free domain that has ads on it when we have a paid-for domain that we have full control over?

I want you to convert it.
I want data of a CSV form of Jess's help system, and or it is an XLS form.
I want to examine a difference with my help file.

Attach it to this thread.
Thank you.

Why doesn't the original poster post the link on the first post so people don't have to sift through pages to find it?

pcRaider,

That's one of the planned features.
It's not going to just happen like that. Start making demands and we respect you even less.

If you're willing to help, then go for it.
Otherwise, if you're interested in a particular command, every one listed says if it has any comments associated with it.

dark coder,
I'll edit it in now

If anyone needs the syntax highlighting I can send over the code... Its quite memory intensive as Dark Basic Pro is an odd language due to space being a delimiter but also part of the command names themselves, for example:
* make object
* make object cube

Two valid commands, but the shorter one would match first due to the alphabetical order. I did toy with the idea of ordering the list of commands by length but ended up disregarding that for some reason...
