I have my doubts about the legalities of RPGMaker. Like I got it in a box with "Battle.net is blahdy blahdy blah", which seems a bit odd. And I've seen RPGM graphics in Elysium.

I never tell the truth.
That ain't a paradox.
I always tell lies is though.

@Gaming Colosseum

I remember your post from that thread.

@Jimmy

It was a joke.

So, you don't think it's "over-rated and VERY overused"?

Flash is a good program. It's NOT over-rated. It is slightly over-used, but then again, it WAS one of the first multimedia enhanced players.

The joke was supposed to be like it was a noob talking.

Was that sarcasm?

I've been making video games for 8 years. How long have you been making video games? I've been programming in C++ for 6 years. How long have you?

Since I've yet to see a newbie post in here, I'll be the first. An mmo for pong would be cool but totallly ridicolous with rpg elements. I've talked about making games since i was twelve but it wasn't until I was 19 that I found any software for it *long story*. Anyway, isn't it a good thing that more people are becoming interested in game dev? More ideas, more bad ideas which will ultimately lead to a really good idea seeming that much grander in design. Have a good one guys.

I don't know the answer to either of those questions, because I don't need to keep track. I don't judge ability and knowledge simply by the number of years I've known about a product's existence.

What have you actually done besides try and sell over-polyed, over-priced, non-textured food models? Because you can hardly call that and dabbling with darkbasic for 8 years "making video games."

I'm sure those "games" you were making when you were 9 years old were real masterpieces, too.

Actually I was 12. And those food models have just been textured. I haven't been making games with DBP, simply because I have better things to do.

I'm a professional, and I've been making video games with the developer Irrational Games for quite some time now. I helped work on games such as SWAT 4.

Now, I'll probably get banned for this...

Moderator: Please don't ban me.

But Jimmy...go f*ck yourself! You really need to try and see both sides of the spectrum. I've tried to be nice on these forums. But you really pushed me over the edge. I don't usually lash out like this, but you should be banned just for being mean to fellow forum users.

Oh hey, nice website Jimmy, it's really nice and fancy.

I'd rather get banned from these forums than listen to an a-hole like you all day.

You are simply the rudest forum user I've ever seen. Usually I get along with everyone, because we usually see eye-to-eye. But you, your just an arrogant as*hole!

Hey.... "That C++ Nerd", it doesn't matter how much ANYONE is annoying you. Breaking the AUP by bypassing the swear filter is a big no, no. I suggest you edit your post before it becomes edited for you with a side of noob slap.
LOL. That would be an ironic way of getting this thread on topic. The creator of the thread about a surge of noobs, gets reduced to a noob in the thread on the subject. Nice. This thread is almost like ping pong, going back and forth between noob talk and MMOORPG Pong.

Thank you. Especially when I've been making games for a long time.

See, you've been here for 6 months, and I always see you as one of the veterans here. It really depends on your experience level, time shouldn't be a factor if you're a member for longer than 3 months.

And then that guy comes along. Just because he's been here a few years, he thinks he knows more than everyone else. Just because I signed up here 6 months ago, doesn't mean I have a lot of experience. Who knows? A noob just signing up could have 5 years experience prior to coming to these boards.

That science fair thing kind of made me pissed.

Who does he think he is? Lieing to people about programming a game and modelling all that stuff. Cool for him if he made a decent RPG in RPGmaker but thats no reason to go and say all this fantasy bull that hje wishes he could do.

I have recently started using c++ so i can't be called a noob for using noob software but I also don't think that guy at the science fair did anything wrong apart from lieing to everyone about using advanced programming and modelling.

As for MMORPG pong, BORING!

I do think that kid deserved the place he got for his game, but not for the lies he told. Seriously though, if you want to beat him, get c++ or DBP or something, make teh Uber pwntz game (sorry for the lame noobish talk ) and then grab a PC and take it down to the science fair and kick his butt fair and square! Then he will learn his lesson.

Tsk, Tsk, Jimmy, you've gone and done it again.

Oh well, time for a big ol' Padlock on this one.

Feel free to start a new thread complaining about how you can't discuss your MMOORPG Pong, though
