Please vote which prefix you like best, and the one with the most votes will be chosen as the DAP command prefix.

Options:
<no prefix> <-- Could cause clashes with other plugins
db
dap
db.
dap.

An example command is:
SetEuler

Which would become:
SetEuler
dbSetEuler
dapSetEuler
db.SetEuler
dap.SetEuler

Current stats:
8.5 Votes: dap.
3 Votes: dap
3 Votes: No prefix
1 Vote: db
1 Vote: dap_ <-- May not get chosen if it wins as it is not one of the options
.5 Votes: db.

if dap_ wins, it may not get chosen, because it is not one of the options. I will put it up in case though...

@Manic
DAP = DBPro Additions Pack
It's a LARGE collection of plugins developed by Aaron (one plugin is made by me) which will hopefully be released some time soon. We want to know which prefix people would like to use when writing out the commands.

Personally...No Prefix is great for user ability - but lets say someone makes a command with the exact same name without the prefix they'll clash, I've had it before, I can't remember what two they were. I'd say a simple easy to remember prefix won't do any harm.

Personally, I'd think of them when coding in the same way as a C++ class or a variable type, so I'd say:

dap.SetEuler

that says to me, I'm using the dap additions pack and picking the command 'SetEuler' I don't think there's no better way of doing it myself.

Aaron, what's your reasoning behind no prefix? It only makes it easier to type, but I don't want to have conflicts with other plugins or future plugins.

I vote for DAP too

Well if he didn't vote for no prefix, then there would be no point of discussion or voting, because we'd all agree...and well I'm sure Aaron feels it's his duty to be one of the only people to lead a devil's advocate against the popular vote...

In other words, he's just wanting to be stubborn and awkward for the sake of it

well, if you're program(or what ever it is) is abbreviated "DAP" it only makes sense for the prefix to be dap. if anyone's program has an abbreviation with 2 or 3 letters, they should without question make that the prefix.

my vote: dap

@Grandma
No... But Jack is smart.

@Agent Dink
Indeed it is easier to type, BUT it is also easier to remember. Adding a prefix will make your code look ugly. Plus the point of the additions pack is to fill in what DBP doesn't have. Adding a prefix will kill the seamlessness behind the DAP plugin to DBP. Furthermore, it is the future plugin's duty to make sure of no conflict between the past plugin's commands.

@Seppuku
Indeed! The entire reasoning behind my argument!

@Anyone who is actually bothering to read this
If there *has* to be a prefix, then I suppose dap. would be fine for organization purposes...

Methinks nearly every other plugin has a prefix so this one should too, but go ahead and break the rules if you like... Nice sig by the way. Mine would be nice if I hadn't stolen it from Insert Name Here. (yes, that's his name)

Chuck Norris isn't so great anymore...According to google fights even an old man like Hirokazu Kanazawa could kick his butt...And I'll have you know, Kanazawa is the general of my secret Japan forces.

But er...Our insanity is kind of jumping threads my man.

I know its to late 4 vote, but i will give my advice:
Every plugin's function need at last 2 letters or more of prefix, for better identification of that plugin function. Supposse you see and old funtion ( 6 months ago ) and you dont remember what this function does. The first thing you will do is ask yourselft what this function does and were it comes from(its plugin).
so i think a "dap_" or "Dap" prefix will do great.

Actually it's going to have to use the underscore, anything else confuses DBP. Apparently custom functions are allowed to have the "." in them, but not real ones.

Actually that's just the prefix, it would be:

dap_DoSomething

Like currently, the DAP plugin can now display a portion of another image to the screen with a diffuse layer so the image could be colored + transparency and transparency color.
