I live 20 minutes south of nowhere. In a state I hate, so yeah. But we're moving next spring to Wisconsin, a place I love, so I'm happy.

Whoa...I hadn't refreshed the page in a while....

Why thanks you CoffeeCoder. With the exception of the category tabs, all buttons were made in MS Paint, from a single leather.jpg downloaded from Google.

The level save/load GUI was really a testbed for the "load object" interface, which will be coming shortly. It would have been next, but then I noticed that global rotation would make editing a lot easier, and then I thought of how not-entirely-hard it would be to implement object groups and making copies of objects and groups, to make castle-building easier. So that's my next objective, after laying down in the dark for several hours as I am about to do soon.

Dunno if you noticed or were still here last time I posted an update, but I've started including the source code with these, in case you need inspiration or entertainment or frustration. I like to figure out how to code something on my own, but I know how much it sucks when a solution is being an elusive little whangdoodle.

I will live forever or die trying.

Yavin - have you read the rules? You get posts depending on where you post in this whole thread (so the person who makes the 10th post etc.) It's all about skilful ninja lurking and fingers of fury. Or people just generally post random rubbish in here...

Mine could never be described as organised though, and while obviously I personally admire the structure and co-ordination involved in a series of your posts, sadly amongst the riff-raff such as myself posting our rubbish in a less orderly and respectable fashion, it starts to appear similarly disorganised. People can't see it in all it's flowing beauty, because of all the other junk cluttering up what could be an almost poetic thread if left to you and your kind.

Possibly an arena for some sort of dance? Like how in black and white films they tapdance and sing through an entire set instead of staying in one place - this could have someone tapdancing through space...

Selecting and modifying multiple objects

Ridiculous pain. Turns out I was forgetting to undim a temporary array in a function, and it just caused everything to break. The only "bug" left now is that whenever a new object is selected, its rotation is reset to that of the group control object, or vice versa. It would take too much memory/time to keep track of an object's original rotation, or maybe I can work something out later. Dunno, my brain is fried again. I need some food.

Sounds like your lucky, My editors littered with bugs, but i did add some new features

Turn Shadows On/Off works Fully, although Shadows are memory Intensive, The Record AVI Button also works, but dont know what it is about recording AVI direct via DarkBasic, but its slower than hell, and the AVI's it Creates are huge, The Newtons Button works, but is a bit buggy at the moment, i also changed the right click menu for objects to turn on\of object ghost, wire and Reflection, but with all these changes, i have to update my load\save functions again

It bugs me to have bugs. Heh. Whenever I implement some new function, I just press all the buttons at once and try to break it, and then figure out what's going wrong. That way I know it won't happen when I try to use it later, when I've forgotten how I coded it.

Al long as the programe works, I just list all the bugs, and fix them later in one big debugging session, My main bugs are all located in the same section of code...my object selector...these include...
1. when objects are resized, i need to resize the selector
2. i need to alter the central point of the Selector object which it calculates Position\rotation off, (I've seen a command for this, but cant remember it)
3. I've got Multiple Object selection already programmed, but not using it yet
4. SelectorData(0) never seems to get deleted.

I've Also go bug in Newtons, but i know thats because im using DarkBasic's Position\Rotate Object Commands, and i need to find the Newton Equivalent.

Resolved a couple other issues with multi-selecting, and figured out how to always select the rotation controls, even if they are behind other objects, without significantly lowering the framerate. Still runs around 900-1000 fps uncapped.

Im just using Disable Object zDepth to make my Object Selector always Visible, but this does not work with Pick Object unless there are no objects between it and the camera, For example, in this picture below, i could only select the tips of the Selector, as the rest is behind the object.

Yes, that was my exact problem. I solved it by calling pick object on the rotation control objects, and if it returned 0 to call pick object for the rest of the objects as usual.
