Demons Breath

lol, I don't have it (maybe I ought to grab it?), I have Spongebob the Movie somewhere, maybe a good alternative?

Grave of the Fireflies is an anime from the 80s by Studio Gibli (Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle...), it's set in Japan during the second world war and just follows a brother and a sister, a very good film (as Studio Gibli films seem to be). Essentially, it's a film about their attempts to survive the raids.

SPOILER:

Yes! Proper rocketed up the leader-board there! Only 2210 to go! I'm shooting for the top!

And Sepp that sounds like a great film! Don't know why you would not find that amazing - why would you need cheering up?
Seriously does sound a bit grim (especially the end - I can't not read spoilers. I just can't help it.)

Also one to recommend is Winnie The Pooh - A Very Merry Pooh Year (rewatched that the other night in my start-of-the-run-up-to-Christmas phase). It's much better than, for example, Winnie The Pooh - Seasons of Giving (which I also own on DVD), which I have sadly to admit did not impress me as much as I had hoped. Mind you I guess the other two, being the only 2 I've watched recently, set such a high standard, that this had no chance of competing. Nevertheless, I disliked the focus on Thanksgiving - I thought it was supposed to be a Christmas film.

Can't say I've ever really watched Winnie the Pooh. Well, I'm sure I'll feel very manly after picking it up.

Grave of the Fireflies is a good film, even if quite grim, but I suppose sometimes you enjoy depressing films, probably because it shows how lucky we are? Perhaps as humans we're morbid beings.

That sounds depressing Sepp,

Definatly not watching that one, Im just getting over the mind F. of Evangelion. Even the 'movie' revsisit was still a mind screw, though it made more sense but then he had to do something to Asuka *Facepalm*... then again *Epic facepalm*

He should be shot, repeadly then again and again...

\and again...

i still am peaceful though.

GJ you have no idea how much of an idiot you are.

Allow me to spell the difference:

Islam
Extremist Islam

Christianity has its extremists too you know?

The guy you're talking to seems to not know English very well, it's difficult to tell what he's actually saying. I know there are teachings in the Qu'ran that says killing the innocent is a bad thing and it is possible he's referring to that.

There are some Muslim members of this forum, so you are proving to be quite an intolerant and simple minded fellow.

Sorry, I'm voting that GJ be moderated for posting intolerant and offensive material and on more than one occasion, baiting political and religious discussion. Also...I never did receive that email GJ.

Judaism and Islam are religions - insulting other people's religions/people based on what their religion is is the main reason that this forum doesn't allow religious discussion. Honestly if it could be relied upon to be a decent civil philosophical debate then I doubt there would be a problem with it. It's when people start refusing to listen to other people's points of views, weighing in on things they know nothing about, or insulting each other that the problems arise.

I can say that I have a pretty good sense of humor, and that I find funny things, funny. I don't, however, find offensive things funny.

Imagine if the tables were turned and you were the one being mocked. You were the one whose precious religion was being tarnished. I know that you would certainly be outraged while the other person sat back and chuckled at you and how foolish you were for believing in what you do.

That conversation might be funny to you, but I cannot find one comedic thing about it.

You are right. No Christian has ever had any extreme views at all. None have even thought about committing a crime. It's well known that they're religiously tolerant in all ways. That Hitler blokey? No that was alright, nowhere near as bad as these foreign types...

Demons Breath, Hitler is a difficult one, it wasn't a religious war, but there's so many examples out there you can use for extremist Christians.

Also..."Catholics are not Christians", I'm sure catholics on here will love that statement too.

Bigotry doesn't get laughs here I'm afraid.

Also from what you posted, he said
1) Killing innocent people was wrong
2) He thought the Israeli president would go to hell, because he killed innocent people.

The Israeli president is one person. He didn't say anything about destroying Israel.

I would have thought that you might even know a little bit about your own religion...

Obviously people thought it too bigoted to find funny. Pretending to hate Jews to wind a Muslim up about their religion, whose beliefs you call silly. I miss the joke.

Apologies to Jeku who'll now have to read through this and probably slap us for flaming, but hey, sometimes you have to flame to show somebody that they're so wrong. Especially when they've been asked not to make such remarks before. Not everybody on this forum is an American right wing Christian from the South, we have a whole world of cultures on this forum. Think next time because you type, it might save you from offending somebody.

Jokes are great...I am a great lover of satire - even religious and racial satire. But bigotry isn't funny. Simple. Bigotry is bad. Simple. It's worrying that you fail to see the difference between 'religious satire' and 'bigotry'.

Also...atheism has nothing to do with this...in fact, I've spoken to some quite intolerant atheists before (one started insulting me because I had dared defend the views of Christianity) and I believe that we're a minority in GC anyway. So I don't see how 'atheist geeks' is at all relevant.

You needn't even leave, but to simply step down from making the baiting/mocking remarks you do.

I've realised that I'm hours from making it off Cracked.com, let alone actually going to bed.

And to be honest, this isn't too late. Over the past month, I've had two nights where I've got to sleep before half 5, it's usually in the 5:30-8:30 range and the latest so far is 3:45PM of the next day. Uni has made me nocturnal (maybe if I went to lectures this wouldn't have happened) and now I'm back home I need to feign normality so my folks don't realise that if I can't physically get up before 3PM then my chances of having full attendance are somewhat suspect. Which will then invalidate my claims that I'm trying really hard on my course, but just can't seem to grasp it, which is why I'm failing. And then all sorts of fuss will arise.

demons breath,

Yes, Uni does somehow have the power of making you nocturnal, it's a peculiar thing. I've picked up the philosophy of "if I have an early lecture, but am up late, then don't go to sleep", I found on a couple of occasions where I have, its meant I've overslept. Of course the lesson to be learned is to go to bed earlier...but it's not that easy when you're early morning lecture is on after student night...it's not that I go out, it's just that EVERYBODY else in halls does and makes a blood noise out of it.

How effective is Nytol I wonder?

Is what IE8? I don't see anything wrong there. Is it cause the title bar just displays the URL and not the page title? That would probably be something to do with your connection timing out.

So what if I talk to myself? Its the only way i can have an intelligent conversation around here.
