Well, I liked Kikaider. I got a friend to watch it and he didn't seem to mind it, though I think I liked it more than him.

The thing that bothers me about it is that it's clearly meant as a kids show, but there are some less "cute" things in it and a lot of depression, blood, etc. (Though not as much as in the more adult animes.)

It's not a very long series (one season) and it's prolly better to be caught watching Kikaider than My Little Pony, so why not?

I'll have to check those out. I appreciate the single-season and short series more than the longer series as, to me at least, it's kind of like a long movie without a sequel to ruin it. (If that makes any sense... lol)

I still have to catch some classics though. I hear Cowboy Bebop is a pretty good anime. I caught a single episode of it once, about
half way through, and thought it was well put together at the time.

The result initially had some pirating sites in 'em. I didn't want to be noob-slapped for providing a link that provided links to some sites that provide links to sites that host files that might be considered illegal.

Of course, providing a link to Google without a search entered into it seems to be okay. Also saying "Google it" should encourage Google-reliance instead of forum-reliance. (I'm sure there are no other kinds of reliance that should be taught.)

So... is no one bringing up the allegations that there will be movies in 2013/2014/2015 for the following?

Metal Gear Solid, Duke Nukem, Halo, Splinter Cell, Mass Effect, etc... (There's a large list.) Also remakes of Carrie, It, Pet Sematary, etc.

There will also supposedly be a remake of Hellraiser, Leprechaun, and other similar horror movies (no doubt following in the footsteps of Halloween, Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, etc). IMO remakes should just stick to the original plot and try to improve on the acting and such. That is, they should make the movie more accessible to the newer generation without ruining it. I liked Rob Zombie's Halloween up until the ending. The ending of the original was perfect!

It's amazing how bad text editing seems after using LaTeX/gvim. I keep getting annoyed that there's no easy button to start at the beginning of the previous line, and in google docs the equation insertion is difficult. (Easy to pick up, but it's a lot slower to insert equations than in LaTeX)

@Benjamin:

As a Christian, I actually disagree with that sign. By quite a lot.

To be clearer: there seems to exist two categories; Christians who believe in Science, and Christians who are devout Creationists, to the point that you can't argue with them, as they'll say the earth can't be any older than 6,000 years old. But there is one major, MAJOR flaw in their logic, and that is that the Bible NEVER EXPLICITLY STATES when it was created or how long it took to create. But they'll say there is, even though they can't really back it up.

I believe in God. I believe He created us, but using science. And I believe it easily could have taken millions of years.

So yeah, that's my 2 cents added in.

The last time I predicted a thread getting locked, the next post was the thread-lock notice.

I know it's all meant in good spirit but the problem is other people may take it the wrong way (there's been a little clamping down recently, dunno why). I liked both posts for different reasons, btw. I guess I'm just tryna say "watch your back" while likely stumbling over my words.

Besides, we all know that we were created by a giant collective consciousness of lemmings that exist on a lemming-planet far, far, away. You say "Prove you're right!" but I say "Prove I'm wrong".

I think a lot of devs - myself included - got caught up in other projects, life, etc. even after spending loads of time on DBP. So few of us end up making that epic we intended - or even starting it. For me, I have many things against me: lost the script to my RPG in a data collapse about two years back, can't find a talented artist who's committed, got a wakeup call on how many assets you really need to make a modern game (I used to make games with QBasic as a kid and that was pretty easy as they were basic graphics made with drawing commands and the sounds were BEEPs and PLAY "<insert random notes/settings which I got through experimenting the way a child 'finds' a melody on a piano>" so I guess I walked into DBP with the wrong mentality to begin with).

Maybe not the first one so much but the second and third one happens to all but the best of us. I personally haven't given up on that dream but I've become pragmatic - "You won't make the next Modern Warfare" as they say here and thus I shoved it on the back-burner and have continued with what I can do now which is work on my book, work on a small coding project (a serious one) and keep rolling with life.

The WIP board may pickup with the next intake of noobs (always a run during and post the festive season). Of course, we have to remember that AppGameKit is about the only fairly up-to-date TGC development software I can think of atm (Sorry if there's something I missed, TGC). So obviously, there's less interest in DBP and FPSC because they're kinda dated. If DBE and FPSCR happen, chances are there'll be a sudden explosion of "My Awesome Game: Pre-Alpha" (No that's a just a model standing in a room and an fps counters) posts.

Btw: When do I get my "most long-winded poster" badge?
