Since Indi left. The game design theory was left modless. And some threads are going out of control! We need a mod on this board, pretty much asap! It seems like me and tha_rami is the most active members on that board and we seen alot of random posts which are not-locked.

Lol, the bóard is going out of control. This is madness, even requesting a topic to get locked by it's own creator is left unattended (grid based strategy, Super Smash Brothers), there are no rules on the board and darn, the board is dropping dead because noone goes there for lack of serious posts.

It's not a life-or-death thing, but it surely is slightly annoying.

Same. I actually said this 3 times in the game design theory board. I do think I'm mature enough.

But anyways this is an outrage! We have people swearing and blaspheming each-other we need a mod on that board! It would be better if it went by Matureness then time on forums to be mod.

I don't care who, as long as we have a mature, frequently visiting, friendly and well-typing mod there.

I think that we should let people who are most active on game design theory to mod because they would always check the board.

There is a thread there. Deathead put it up after we discussed the thing in the grid based strategy topic, I said I though Geek Culture would give us more attention so... here we are.

I think everyone would want to be a mod, but really, we need someone we can trust to be honest and mature - that's why Robert, sadly enough, is too 'new'. Being a mod is no light responsibility, I've learned through bitter experience.

Aah, Deathead, come on. There's no need for two mods on Game Design Theory - the board is as good as dead at this moment. But for those posting, the grid based strategy topic has shown the lack of a mod is at least disturbing.

I think its a disgrace. That is my favourite board. Edit: @Robert F: I trust you. But seeming you haven't joined for atleast a year, some think that you may be un-trustable.

It's definitely annoying. Let's just hope a mod notices this and keep quiet until the topic drops too low or a mod replies. Actually I feel one of the current mods could more than likely take on the extra 'strain' of Game Design Theory.

@Robert F.: I do trust you as a person, but I'm glad you understand most people wouldn't trust a 'new' person as a mod.

You can always hit the abuse button.

Given the number of boards, threads and posts made each day, it's not possible to watch everything.

Having said that, GDT is not somewhere I frequent often. Maybe there isn't much interest in this area in the current Mod Squad.

Most of the moderators have been here for a fair few years at least. Becoming a mod in a year is unlikely, so I wouldn't hold your breath.

Well to be honest I do think that Deathhead, Robert F or tha_rami would be a very good moderators I once in a while check the game design theory forum but whenever I do it seems I always see their posts somewhere in a topic. Also you guys are very active members of the TGC forum.

But that is just me ..... *Grabs computer and runs for the hills.*

Personally, as long as it's modded it's okay with me. If people think I'd do a good job, I'm honored, lol, and if this non-official voting would pick me I'd definitely do it - I'm kind of always active on a lot of places and I always read through every post in Game Design anyway. In the end, however, it does not make sense to vote at all since the Mod Squad is carefully selected.

However, I think Zototoaster would do a better job than me seeing his 'state-of-presence' and I know him as a mature and honest person.

Even though he isn't around the Game Design board much, he would be if he became mod - so I think that is of little importance.

@Batvink:
The abuse button is for abuse, not for off topic topics or random nonsense in a board without rules. Seeing the consequences for false abuse-reports, I don't think that'll be used much in an anarchic board. I feel we need a mod.

If you are talking about your own matureness, you are likely not mature enough.

Secondly, this isn't a vote. Mods don't get voted in. This thread itself should be locked :/

To be honest I think the FPSC boards have too many mods. The game development boards only have 3 or 4. I can't see any in 2d chat aswell.

If mods lock this before they at least see to it that someone moderates Game Theory, no offense, it would be kinda hypocritical if you ask me. There's an entire board unmoderated and the serious complaints about such a thing get locked? Really, no offense meant, just my view of things.

That being said, as said above I agree this is not a vote.

True so none of us should not be mod as this is used as a voted oppinion. And let the game design theory board die.

I'd take up a modding position for a couple boards, though college would take up a lot of my lurking time.

But I don't think the mods are quite that desperate

Guys, there's no point in voting for new mod when the administrators haven't expressed the need for a new one. When the forum administrators request a new mod for an area, they'll post a thread here or in the mod forum. Then you can vote however you feel, but right now it's just useless.

We do try to cover a lot of the forums, but sometimes we miss a thread here and there. Shoot us an email if something is getting out of hand and we didn't notice.

EDIT:

The minute some of you start talking trash about mods being hypocritical, and raising a fuss, we're going to lock this thread. Period.
