A question?

What size are these skyboxes?
- 512, ?
- 1024, ?
- 2048. ?

Would like to know, since i think that skyboxes has to be
good in size like a min of 1024.

Thanks in advance, and if its already been answered then sorry.

Cheers,
Cheese Cake.

its 1024x1024 for the images, but the box is the same size as it is for the ones that comes with the game, I cant remember off hand, I think its under 20 units, I kept it the same size as the one in the game as default, but I changed the image to 1024, they are 512 by default, RickV suggested that so that they would last longer as tech advances, but I also have a .x box as 1024, you would have to change its name to a 3 digit one if that was used for fpsc as it likes 3 digit names, there are also other boxes in the pack which can be used for other game. the one with a 3 digit name in the packs are all set up for fpsc and are correct so there is no worries on that score.

These are really nice. I like pic 3 out of the sample slide show images alot. Any chance you have done anything like the castle pic without the castle. I will have to check out your site and see what cool backgrounds there are.

Great work.

Pic 3, would that be cloud city, I was influenced by SW The Empire Strikes Back, for the cloud city images.

There are terrain skyboxes without buildings in with fpsc, thats why I focused on having content in mine, also The Game Creators do skymatter skyboxes, these have just terrains in them with no buildings.

There's one that comes with FPSC, I think it's "skybank/natural/Ngt"

I changed my domain when my web host stole the domain, so I had to get a new one.

Ive corrected the links, they should show now in this thread, if you have any trouble on my site with the skyboxes, ie broken links or images, or you have any trouble ordering give me a shout.

Just sent the download links for your order, check your email.
When placing the SB in levels, its the 3 word files, I think the read me is quite complete, been a while since I looked, some of the other files are usefull if you want to use a skybox as an entity, the default setting in fpsc is way off, it has the skybox seen from the centre, so half the thing is hidden some what, they should make it so that its either lower, or you can put its position lower, I may mail the efx thread about that, its an oversight by TGC, anyway to counter that, you can get a better view if one used the SB as entities, that way one can place them how one wants, like I said its an over sight by TGC making the camera view for SBs in the centre of them rather than a 1/4 of the way up.

If you make any good screens of the SBs in action, post them here so people can see what the product does.

Not for professionally designed sky boxes. This is a good price.

Their is a free Desert city with pyramids on my site, you could change the hue in the image to make it purple if needed.

On prices, these are not expensive at all, they are priced in line with TGC packs, there is as much work or even more in these packs, nothing in CGI is free as they say, if you can see it, it had to be made, If you see a crashed space ship, well that had to be modelled and textured, If you see a city, guess what, those buildings had to be modeled and textures and set in a scene, same goes for everything, how long do you think it took to make that underwater scene with cities, to make the models, texture them, set all the materials correctly, rendering it alone in Bryce took 2 and a half days for all 6 images. If one calculated the time I put into these and the money that was made, there isn't a job low paid enough that would compare, I would of made infinitely more stacking selves in Tesco's than making these. How fpsc users complain over prices for content is quite laughable. If you commissioned a 3d artist to make you a character fully rigged and game ready, you would be talking in the 1000s of USD, A few years back I was quoted 1500 hundred for a model with normal, spec displace maps etc, no rig not animated, and that's on the low side. Fpsc users are very out of touch with prices in the real world of games costs.

@fallen one, I think I've asked you before, but just to make sure - am I allowed to use screenshots of your skyboxes for website design - headers, backgrounds, etc.? (Please say yes, lol)
And again - Fantastic work! Absolutely worth the money!

Unfortunately, he has been banned and asked me to post his answer here:

"Yes you can use my skyboxes for that purpose. They can be used in 2d design.
If you do something nice post it in the thread so people can see what can be
done with them."

Thanks!
