I have it like that. I might change it back though because I got more used to the new version. I don't know...

Win2k requires less to run than XP. Plus, 2k wasn't intended for home use in the first place, which was why ME was rushed out so quickly (and poorly).

XP x64 uses the same kernal as 2k3 server, which is considered the most stable OS MS has ever released.

I'm also a huge fan of win 2000, I'd be using it too if .net were supported. Maybe it is through third party software?

XP is OK. XP 64-bit version is not.

A friend of mine has an all-singing all-dancing machine with a 64-bit CPU but it was supplied with the 32-bit version of XP.

When he contacted Microsoft about getting hold of the 64-bit version the guy he spoke to recommended he stayed with the version he had as the 64-bit version was "broken".

So, even Microsoft's employees are suggesting you don't use it.

I had a quick play with it and so many things didn't work and so many pieces of software (like AVG) wouldn't install I just gave up. It was gone within 8 hours of installing it!

My Idea of the "Ultimate" version of Windows

Quote: "I want to turn my computer on and i want it to go straight to a "Web Page Login" where you can enter you email and Password and it will automatically log you on to your desktop which would be stored online.

As where i work most of the systems are accessed through Internet Explorer I would still be able to do my job, But on my private desktop.

As i would always be on "My Desktop" I would not need to remember all the usernames and passwords i have which would make PCUsage much easier

Doing this would also mean you can log into your desktop from ANY PC on the planet and access your files
"

Thats the OS I want, Pitty Microsoft and Apple will never make an OS like this

Everyone Be Cool, You, Be Cool.
