you can start by reading the manual and nikkydudes guide.

1. can't do it
2.get a better computer, make sure you have v1.07 or make less complex levels
3.its in nikkydudes guide

have a nice day

Thanks

Just some corrections here,

This is possible using the keypressed command in v1.07

Loading time reflects how many different objects you have in your game. If its really a big issue to you, try reusing some of the same stuff thruout the level, that way it only has to load once yet can fill a few parts of the map.

Hey Bullshock,
Did they get rid of the scancode part of that in v107? (scancodekeypressed=keypressed?)

Wasn't there a moveentitytotarget or something like that added to v105?

I can't remember, so new Conditions/Actions lists would be nice.

What are the chances of getting an updated Conditions/Actions list??
Like pages 86 to 90 in the manual only updated.

An updated Conditions/Actions List would make a nice sticky in the FPSC Scripts Forum.
If you added another column to the lists, then each condition/action could have the version number of its release indicated.
It would only need updating each time a new version is released.

@Conjured Entertainment

The scancodekeypressed is what i meant, sorry about that.

And yes if someone were to take the time to put together a list, i wouldn't mind stickying it, i just don't have the time to do it myself right now.

I can think of a very sneaky way of doing that. Mind you, it would require some rather unorthodox round-about editing.

It could be done somewhat like this:

1) Make a tiny 1 cell room with all the guns and a whole bunch of ammo. Make them spawn instantly and infinitally.

2) Script an invisible entity to follow the player EVERYWHERE. Have it's collision turned off but it's physics turned on (some method to have it follow the player up and down stairs and whatnot, but not allow the player to know it's there)

3) Make a script that senses a series of keypressed (this has been done before and is in nickydude's guide so I'm not gonna go into detail), and after the correct series is pushed, use a "plrmoveto" or "moveplrto" or whatever, directly into the cell with all the weapons and things. Then immediately move the player BACK onto the invisible entity. The player won't even know what the heck just happened, or that they even went somewhere, but now they have a bunch of guns and ammo to boot!

Not sure if that'll work and may even require some "scripting order" variations to get it going, but it makes sense in my mind, and usually that's enough for me to get something working.

The one and only,
~PlystirE~

P.S. If you hadn't noticed by now, I love to use invisible entities to solve complicated problems.

Quote: "That's in my guide."

The only new condition/action that you show to be new is scancodekeypressed (v103), right?
(For some reason I thought that came out in v104)

I thought that Lee fixed/extended the movetotarget with a new movetoentity=x, moveentitytotarget=x, or something like that.
I know I saw it in a thread, but I cannot find it by searching.
My notes on v105 are somewhere, but I can't find them either.

Were there not new conditions/actions added to v105?

Quote: "And yes if someone were to take the time to put together a list, i wouldn't mind stickying it, i just don't have the time to do it myself right now"

That is why I didn't play around with the new conditions/actions when the updates came out, I didn't have the time.
Now I can't find my notes that I had on the update changes for the moveto thingy, so I can't do it.
I would be glad to make an updated list, but without the notes I'm worthless on that mission.
That is why I was hoping to get the list from TGC, so that you know it includes all functional conditions/actions.
I guess the FPSC X10 manual will have what I need.

I second that.

And didn't I do something like this...
Thinks...

Oh yeah, @Plystire... don't teleport the player, that'll just cause lag. Rather, just remove the whole "plrdistwithin=100" line in the ammocode and replace it with activated=1.

Something like

:state=0:state=1
:activated=1:playertake,destroy

and the series?

:state=0:state=1,timerstart
:state=1,key=*:addstate=1,timerstart
:state=2,key=*:addstate=1,timerstart
:state=3:activateifused=1,state=0
:hudtimer=1000:state=0

The idea is (lee DID fix hudtimer right?) to time the keystrokes, so if it's not typed in quickly, it'll ignore what was typed in.(Unless of course you want 36 OTHER key='s).. keep in mind, this is mainly psuedo code, but I think it's the jist of the matter.

WoW... Good Stuff.

I barely remember TehFAQ

Quote: "Additionally, do not be AFRAID of physics objects. Physics may slow down your game slightly, but it is OFF most of the time, an object only interacts with the physics system if a force is applied (or it is spawned, or the game starts)"

And I still hold that point...

60. Light is bad. What is scarier, a bloody knife in the middle of a well lit foyer or a knife clearly seen, blood still dripping from its tip, but you cannot see (clearly) where the source is... or if the wielder is still around."

Were these originally me? They sound like the type of satanical stuff I'd write. (And yes, it says it's bdgbdg's, but some of those tips are clearly mine)
