Quote: "Sorry, I completely do not understand what you mean. Is tic-tac-toe not a real game? Checkers? Or maybe it isn't, but Chess is? Bejeweled, Zuma, Tetris Attack, etc. are real games and you're the first person I've seen say otherwise.
In your opinion when does a game pass from non-game to real game? When it takes longer than 15 minutes to play? I'm fairly certain someone speed ran through Super Mario Bros on the NES in less than 15 minutes. Is that not a real game, then?"
That's my problem here, I cannot really draw a distinct border between them. Most arcade-ish games do not fall under the category game anymore for me.
Tic-Tac-Toe, Checkers, Chess, Bejeweled, Zuma and Tetris Attack are no longer games in my opinion. They used to be, currently they're just pass-times for if you're bored during workbreaks or something.
It isn't timebound neither. Super Mario is a game in my opinion, certainly. Pong is not.
Like said, I cannot clearly distinguish when something qualifies as game. Any argument I could give could be countered by you, and that could be countered by me again. It would be an endless discussion, but I'd be interested to take it to IM or something.
