I'm always the first to acknowledge when I'm wrong about stuff... I never come up with excuses for this, that, or the other thing. What I meant by that is a lot of people aren't too willing to jump at the opportunity to claim they're wrong. I still firmly believe the PS3 has a strong chance of catching up and taking the lead over either (or even both) consoles... if that happens, people will say "Sony Cheated!" to try and lessen them somehow. I definitely think you're one of the people who'd acknowledge I was right, and a few others as well. But the vast majority more than likely wouldn't
. That's how it always goes when I predict something right, lol. A friend in college said the PS2 would be crushed by the Gamecube and/ or the original xbox, and to this day he denies saying that, even though all of the listeners of my radio show quite clearly heard him say it, and regardless of the fact that there's an actual audio cassette recording of the conversation, lol. I won't say names, this shouldn't be a flaming war, but you can't see anyone on TGC doing something similar to that?
Quote: "If you had been right about your prediction, I would have been first in line to congratulate you. In fact, when you made the prediction in the first place, I had a feeling that you were going to win that wager. History has been nice to Sony consoles after all."
I was of that same school of thought for a few months, figuring sales would pick up dramatically. I didn't start to worry until February, that's when the numbers of my predictions stopped being accurate and took a turn for the worse, lol.
Quote: "Probably the best plan of action for everyone is to stop drinking sodas, but that will of course never happen. Didn't meant to offend you though."
You'd have an easier time getting me to quit smoking or give up playing games than you'd ever have getting me to quit drinking coke.
I think everything is bad for you, and hiding from stuff just makes you weaker, lol. A wise man (George Carlin) once said that swimming in the Hudson River strenghens your immune system. Not everyone who smokes dies of cancer, not everyone who drinks pop has teeth fall out, and not everyone who drinks beer gets liver problems (or beats their significant others in drunken stupors). I have a friend whose great grandfather is still alive at 93 years of age. He smokes a pack a day, drinks like the antidote is in it, and is in the best shape of anyone I've ever seen in his age group... mentally and physically. Heck, he still has all of his original teeth and all of his hair. You're just as likely to get killed in a car, or run over by a bus, or die falling onto the subway tracks, or mugged, or shot by carjackers, or electrocuted, or any of the other zillions of ways we can die just by leaving our homes each day. All things should be taken in moderation of course, and this really doesn't support my strong anti-drug policy, but yeah, that's what I think about cola being bad for you, lol.
Edit: lol Bigadd, you're a Penn & Teller fan I see
