Sorry about this, but there hasn't been much about how well X10 will do when using SLI.

Here's the computer I found:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 4MB Cache Dual Core 64 BitProcessor
2 x 2.33GHz
1GB DDR2 800MHz Ram
250GB Serial ATA II RAID Hard Drive
Dual nVidia 8600GT 512MB PCI-E Graphics Running In SLI Mode
18x Dual Layer +R/-R/RW DVD burner
7.1 Channel High Definition Audio
Nvidia 650 SLI Chipset ATX Motherboard

How well do you think it will run?

Everything looks OK, I should say... except for the SLI. One 8800 GTS will perform better than two 8600's (correct me if I'm wrong). And you might want to upgrade the RAM.

For the price of the dual 8600s, don't you think it would be better to get an 8800 GT or GTS?

And the RAM may give you problems.

Well I've got 1GB of RAM on the machine I've got now, and it runs very smoothly.

Why would 2 8600s run badly if only one can nearly run X10 as well as 1 8800?

Surely 2 of a very good thing is better than one of an excellent thing? Or am I wrong?

he means only a gig may give problems, and just because theres 2 doesn't mean its twice as good i believe its around 170% of the power of one at the moment

Oh.... okay. I'm happy with the gigabytage of the ram as it is. What's the deal with the SLI? Surely the 8800 can not be more than twice as powerful as the 8600?

<EDIT>@Black Terror: Because this is soooooo much cheaper!

as I said there not twice as powerful as the 8600 man some people just don't listhen, and it depends really as there are many different 8600 cards and many 8800 cards in other words two of the worst 8600 cards in sli probalbly wouldnt be better than the best 8800 card

:storm 6000: Sorry I thought you were talking about the RAM

Okay. I'll stick with this as this is only £420.
