Post Mortem
Beyond Death - Earth as we know it is dead. A small group of men continues to fight their way to safety in the anarchy that is left behind.
Me and Gil are taking over this thing as HL isn't here anymore
In continuation of Hogoblin Lords' Forum RPG, which turned out pretty much chaotic and dead, me and Gil will attempt to restart where the old thread died. The team has made it to a rebellion base camp just inside the border of China, where they rendez-vous and have Walter, a mercenary pilot, healed from a crash-landing. Arnold, another man, reaches the rebellion camp a few days later. The dates have changed a bit: The story starts at December, 13, 2017.
Earth is destroyed. Five years after a Chinese nuclear bombing of Japan, setting off a brutal nuclear war that scorched most of our planet. Countries were obliterated before they had really learned of the war. The human population is now a fraction of what it was. Communications are nearly non-existant, and a small group of unlucky men, soldiers and a mercenary find themselves inside the Chinese borders, where unknown danger lurks.
Original story
December 21, 2017- It has been five years since the bombs
fell. We should have seen it coming when the Chinese closed their
borders the year before, but fools that we were, we thought no one
would want a nuclear exchange. Japan found out the hard way that
was not so. Within days the world powers chose up sides and the war
grew quickly, so quickly that some parts of the world did not even
know the war existed before they were effected. Arsenals were
emptied, cities and nations obliterated, and the world population
reduced to a fraction of what it once was. Electricity is a thing
of the past, communication almost impossible, and fuel is all but
gone.

* Everyone should work towards their objective, be it individual or groupswise. Military people should act as such.
* No one man actions. Keep to the plan. You can introduce small things, as a flanking enemy, but no completely storychanging elements. You cannot post 'we killed everyone and reached the airfield'. Keep things realistic and fun.
* We want everyone to sign up ASAP. The game starts on 13 december. Any later entries will have to wait till after an eventual succesful raid on the airfield."
Walter was walking around the rebellion base camp in the setting sun. It was cold, but his arm was healing well. It had been two weeks since they reached the camp, and both the military men that had saved him and Arnold, another man that reached the camp a few days ago, were faring well. There had been a commotion about radiation, but luckily it turned out noone had recieved a damaging amount of it.
There had been talks of leaving China. Some wanted to head for the capital. But everyone agreed that an airfield was the first target. The rebels disagreed, and made clear there would be no aid nor help from them, and that if anyone betrayed their position, they would suffer.
Nevertheless, the airfield was the general consensus. The rebellions offered me a map, which he had shared with the team. It looked as follows:
They had discussed it over and over again: the team would need to create a plan of action. What is obvious is that most of the area between the branches of the river is open field and heavily guarded.
The ruins could make for a good spot to scout again. Also, the crashed jet fighter is being checked by mercenary forces. They are said to have certain heavy weaponry that might be useful in the airfield raid. Most of our side of the river is densly populated with forest.
The military opposes both mercenary as rebel forces, a shame is that mercenary forces will capture and kill anyone if they cannot pay, and the team has no money. An alliance is no option.
Walter walked around for a few more moments, and sat down on a bench. He chatted with Jeff for a moment, and went to sleep. They would decide on their plan in a few days.
The two days before the 13th, they'd have to find out who's in, put together their equipment, and once more discuss their traits and specialties. They'd have to prepare this perfectly. Walter stood up again, waved at the soldiers sitting near the campfire, and went to bed.[center]
