Does anyone know where i can get a cheap 8800GT (around £150-180 or less :/) I have tried ebuyer.com and amazon but is there a good place to get them from (Note i am british and wont be able to get one shipped over)

You're pretty much outta luck. The 8800 is still hovering around £300. I got one off ebay for a tidy £200 for a friend.

If I were you, don't spend your cash on the cheaper 8600. Just hold on a little bit and save for the 8800. I just got gears of war, and the performance difference between playing it on my 8800 PC and my 8600 (well it's equivalent) is pretty big.

shame :/ The cheapest i have seen so far was a £160 512mb version on amazon for http://www.amazon.co.uk/BFG-nVidia-GeForce-Express-Graphics/dp/B000Y180XE/ref=pd_bbs_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1197997021&sr=8-1

but with a before xmas delevery and at the price it was, it wasnt a suprise that it was sold out.

The next one up would be an £180 one. i may just go with that considoring the other prices you said but to be fair i would buy a gts for that price.

not too sure about ebay though :/ was it one of the shops or just a random auction :/??

amazon sells 8800 GTs for $250. though no matter what you say im getting an 8600 because * ** *** 1* *** and have to use ** ******'s ***** ( i put it in *s because this info would give away my age ) ( just kidding ) ( no im not ) ( or am i? ) ( no )
