The first fireworks is booming here, little kids firing their freshly bought crackling and exploding things before getting caught by the police. Time passes, years go - what we keep is our experiences. What was 2007 for you people? Got fireworks? How do they celebrate New Year where you live? What will 2008 be like for you? In technology? In daily life?

2008 will be like 2007 for me except for a few months I'll keep writing DD-MM-07 on everything...as for celebrating new years, I either don't, or do whatever some friends are doing

You're kidding, right? You absolutely certain?

Just wanted to ask around what people thought 2008 would bring and what 2007 has brought, so "Happy 2008!" sounded like a good and catchy title.

2007 was a crap year for our family, so a new year will be a refreshment, it's got to be a good year, at least some of the awesomest bands are doing their UK tour dates, Iron Maiden, Children of Bodom, Opeth, At the Gates, Communic, Nightwish...man my mouth is drooling.

Of course, to open 2008 we have to booze up, and sp3ng is forgetting something very important...All the rum you can drink! Yeargh! Captain Morgan!

No fireworks here yet, we wait until the night of New Year's Eve before they set off.

ItĀ“s 2009 here!

Nah, just kidding.

Anyway, 2008 will propobly be like 2007 except that new stuff comes out and technology advances a bit and so. Like usual.

Coffee grunt, that's why they have the 'USE THE DAMN WRIST STRAP' warning at the start of every game, plus the 'USE RESPONSIBLY AND DON'T KILL YOUR DOG BY HITTING IT' warning.

2008 is either going a year in which I'll rapidly have to mature, or a year of total disaster.

Coffee grunt, cheer up a little - I know you're in England but no need to be grumpy...do you know what I like to do to grumpy people? I hug them, though my Mother doesn't seem to like the idea of my hugging her miserable boss, but he looks like he was deprived of one as a child.

Also, please don't make fan-biased/elitist comments like that - you have gamers of all walks of life here and comments like that aren't welcome here.

Quote: "I know you're in England but no need to be grumpy..."

Why not?

This country used to be a great place, now it's filled with immigrants who want to sponge off hard working tax payers!!!! They get houses, benefits, more benefits... Some have even got cars to help them get to work!! The government even let in Robert Mugabe to do his shopping! He is responsible for rape, murder, economic surpression - to name a few!

People on benefits just have to whine and they get homes, we hard working folk, have to pay their life of luxury - while they sleep we work!

News report not so long ago, the government want to kick out a disabled, Indian child of the country, but oh, they give criminals, playstations, lots of food - life of luxury!!

so much more to be angry about, plus the weather is shi.te! all the time!!

not much to be grumpy about then!

2008 is going to be even worse, Long live Blair and Brown *NOT*

Listen to rami, keep away from the immigrants...

Uhh, I mean keep away from the topic - we don't want his thread locked on the account of the AUP being broken, for one thing, I am tempted to contradict you on several points, but it's the new year (almost), it's rami and so I'll refrain from my nagging urges.

Yeah, real funny Virtual X. Grow up.

In any case, I am ashamed to say that the above is most likely my last post for 2007. I bid you all farewell, and hope to see all of you alive and kicking and coding/drag&dropping/just-being-random in 2008.

Yes the Blair Witch project did suck, but James Brown? He was a legend.

That'd be telling, but lets just say pineapples and electromagnets are involved...as are an arming of Leprechaun Ninjas. Due to a lack of success in 2007 I thought what the hey, why not come up with my schemes drunk.

Pineapples are the best fruit to have with you in a war: You can
*Squirt the acidic juices at people
*Stab people with the leaves
*Use it like a club (Spiky!)
*Use it in a catapult

08 has been good so far... so far I've eaten cake, drank grape soda, ate some leftovers from dinner, played Paper Mario, and watched tv. 08 has been 100% laziness thus far. I wonder how long I can keep the perfect score going. Next step is bedtime!

Terrible start here. Extreme mist and blackout, no lights on the bikes or roads and 6KM to bike through agricultural fields.

The celebrations were very fun though, lots of fireworks, food and friends.

uhoh, Serge can return...

As for 2008, seems good so far, just lazy, Kingdom Hearts and Iced Earth is a great mix...starting new year with Iced Earth I think makes off for a good start.

Oh, happy belated new year, I had shut my laptop down by midnight, so I couldn't do a shout out on time.

2008 will be where I have to work my arse off to pass the first year of uni and to get my first project complete.
