Well assuming you made this,
the hud is great, photorealistic, blends well.

The level design by the screenshot is horrible, but it's nice to see that you have at least some sort of custom enemy.

@D13 oh yeah, the last little level of this playing around uses you and tyrano's snowman! (which is hilarious in its own right...)

@AaronG - I'm really shooting for the lowest common denominator here, glad it missed you completely! try downloading rev7 or xibalba from that same filefront link

Looked at your website link, are you sure you want to say that your games "sometimes reach commercial quality"? (I'm givin' my stuff away, to paraphrase an old coot "whaddya expect for nuthin'? money back?")

Very surrealistic! and I love the panic ammo wasters. Just when I thought I had the jump on an enemy 'POP' gone in a flash leaving me with less ammo, lol, and not knowing the guy was gonna give me advice(played through 2x just in case i missed something). Also the Clown Psudo Biblical refernce with the BBQ was a hoot. I know a snowball doesn't stand a chance in hell but I guess chaingun wielding SnowMen do,lol. I saw the ice machine but bulldozer refernce went over my head a bit. As a surreal work I give it a thumbs up, but I'm into that sort of thing. This ones not for all but for the some that tend to not look for face value in there entertainment. Or I could just be weird and see more than what's in front of me. LOL.
All in all I enjoyed it, and I'll try your other demos as well.

BTW- You want that clown rigged?

EDIT- Tried the other demos. RF? Man you ran the engine gambit as much as I have. That was accually a good engine. Judgeing by your game content you may/maynot like my Grave Danger as feathers and fangs both fly. Lotta biblical involvement only grittier.

I had just finished watching Resident Evil Extinction and the floating rotating boulders in the desert was what inspired the spinning bulldozer.

I actually have about 4 clowns that need rigging! They are all pretty simple meshes (it was a subtle reference to Nietzche's clown in one of his writings). Rigging was what I was trying to do in the other thread (actually got one working, chuckles...).

Those other RF things are complete games by the way, 14-15 levels each. Problem was and is that the "Christian" market ain't really there, they are all scared of shooters and games (love to try YOUR game also.) Great little engine, but it was ALWAYS a big deal to get menu and graphic changes with it. The best that direct x 9 could offer.

Probably if I can get the hang of making odd shaped segments I can push the surreal element more. May have to buy Magic to get that accomplished.

Have you tried the free one that TGC supplies? Its a bit slow and buggy (what aspect of FPSC isn't) but as long you know your way around an fpe you can make your own segments out of anything.

@D13 I got the clown and one of his brothers rigged and working. Just had to go back over your directions and CAREFULLY follow along. Weapons are all backwards but what the heck, I'll just make them zombies...

I know it sound rediculous, but if you want the weapons on him propperly open him in fragmotion, rotate all and export him again, SOmetimes i have to do this multiple times just to get the gun in the correct hand and faceing the right way. Just keep in mind- where Milkshape lacks, Fragmotion picks up. they compliment each other very nicely.

@D13 GOOD one, much better than my thought of the fried egg in his brain!!! Will probably post an update later today with the rogue commie satellite, standing clowns that kill you and hearse and flaming sword (non-weapon, too bad...). Have you ever seen "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas?" The surreal humor in that is my guiding light...

That is one of my favs. Honestly Johnny Depp's best performance, and I'm really not a Johnny Depp fan. His semi emulation of this performance is probbably why the Pirates series was so good. Sorry Johnny, but I guess you play a chemical dependant best. LOL

you combine that humor with something "biblical" and you got ME!
if you want to do a search on an artist that understood Hunter S. Thompson, look up Ralph Steadman, he did bunch of beer labels that are quite hilarious (I don't partake myself but HAD to buy the bottles...

just got one thing to say.............

Have you seen The Mighty Boosh, if so then this is verrry similar to it in ideology, and laughs.
If not then i recommend you do, unless your American or something therefore you probably can't get it....

EDIT-If you mean that we can't 'recieve' it, then I retract my statement. But do realize that we live in the age of the internet, so I just strolled down to youtube and enjoyed what I saw. So in that sense I did 'get it'

I too love British humor. It's a lot more hilarious than most American humor.

[On topic]The hud looks really good implemented in the game, and the clowns remind me of why so many people are afraid of clowns: They are horrifing! Good job on them.

Be a little less shallow-minded when making a statement like that."

i think he ment you cant get it over there, as in cant buy it therefore cant "get" it. I dont think he was saying that Americans wont get it, i share a flat with two Americans and there well into the mighty boosh so theres no problem there. anyway great stuff really like it

Haven't seen it yet, probably won't, politics scares me...

thanks for the compliments on the hud and clowns gunnr3! going to work on an updated version of the motel (a few new enemies and messages) here in a bit (try to make it more confusing... just because I can...)

(as far as Brit humour goes, some of my FAVORITE STUFF... the televised version of Hitchiker's Guide is SO much better than the recent theatrical release...)

Yes.......

I'm sorry but I meant that i thought it would be a rare thing to be seen in America, as the only channel i know it to be broadcasted on is BBC3, which i imagined few Americans watched, similar to the fact that i know few Brits who watch Fox.....

I don't like Racial stereotypes, so i wasn't bashing Americas sense of Humour,(as i, like many people i know love shows like Family Guy and The Simpsons),...

Its cool , I see I misunderstood.

OnTopic- Perhaps twisting a few verses from Dante's inferno and making scenes only modernized and clownized would look intresting.

Now let's get back on topic....

@Marty

Are you planning a sequel to this, if so I'd be very interested in it, as this game makes me lol......I love surrealism....

Actually I am planning a surreal gesture in an entirely secular direction, a redo of a hospital game I did. Inspired by true life happenings at the mercy of incredibly dumb medical staff.

OK folks, that's a WRAP for Motel 666 for a while. Get the updated stuff here!

mods you can lock this baby down! I'm on to the hospital game!

Its been fun but I think I'm too ADD to invest more than a weeks's worth of effort on one hobby game, (btw, kudos to TGC for the GREAT model packs, 11 and 16! the rocks were just too gorgeous to pass up). Kudos to D13 not just for the snowman (done with tyrano), but I worked his cultist in one of the levels too!

Nice expansion! The little brother looked awsome! the extra levels and such gives the game a more 'finished' feel.
