Nice animated night vision based on s4real's torch.
I'm thinking of doing a pack of gizmo's and gadgets this being the first. This method could also be applied to diver's mask with animated bubbles, deep sea helmet etc.

Video.

A pack of gizmo's and gadgets would be great. I'd buy it. A diver's mask would be awesome.

stop asking requests and hijaking threads! u do it on every forum even on indiegame dev in the shout box. nobody will want to trade you a simple sewer segment (with a stock texture which is a against the rules) for something as great as his. in one thread u asked if someone would trade a box for something like a gun or a character. so stop asking requests 24\7!

Woah jeez.

Very nice, these will come in handy. I'd love to see someone come up with a buncha James Bond-type gadgets, too. That'd be pretty awesome.

Very nice, indeed.

And/or the night vision, oh and that terrain from Eldora too Seriously though, you should make the Nigh vison have use power when lee ads variables and make the player able to pick up batteries for it. Until then, you could just make a limited time of use, like 30 seconds of something. Unlimited night vis is kinda cheap.

Just wondering how do you animate it? Did you just create multiple frames and then use a script to overlay them in sequence?

That's what it looks like.
The hole gets smaller in each of 2 or 3 frames (HUDS)
There is a side effect when changing the ambience, color, and displaying a hud at the same time, but I think he did use a few huds.
Only he knows, but it could be the side effect itself.
I had a funny transition thing going on when I first used this method too.
I tried to tweak it with a timer, but I never got it to work perfectly.

Nice job on the HUD Rolfy

Yeah I been thinking about the bubbles for a divers mask too.

Instead of a time limit, it should fail or shut off when the ambient light goes up. That way, when you you're in a lighted room, it turns off. Or white out the HUD until you drop the night vision.

That's too cool...though I did notice something small, when you started the video, the ambiance was light. And when you put on then took off the glasses, the ambiance was at zero, kinda like s4real's flashlight thingy. I mean, I'm not suggesting anything like that, just saw a slight similarity there...

Anywho, I love what you did! It's great, man. I'm still pondering how it animates...

Lol,we are the best of buddies really.

S4 did ask me to create a hud for his night vision,I just took it a little further and animated it.

The ambience is at zero at start it just appears darker cause the player is further down the tunnel when the glasses are removed.

My team, lol.
Not sure just yet it all dpends on what is possible,I have a lot of ideas.Just not implemented as yet and I dont want to say in case they dont work.
I can say that we have agreed to include the enclosed elevator in this pack, which will come with a .fpm so folks wont have to actually build it,it is pretty complex to set up and it will be more of a bonus item.
