this seriously is my first game, i have been spending the last 6months improving my map making and lightmapping skills.

i am creating a stand-alone exe of the first level as i type. will upload 1st level either later tonight or tomorrow.

just to tell you ahead of time, i put in hl2zombies in here so this is only a beta of the first level, i might take them out in the full game however. the menus are also betas, will make custom ones later.

k, just played, pretty good for the first game, a little glitch i found was the room you started out in, i walked near the chair and fell through the floor into the second half of the lvl, it was pretty creepy, good places of soundzones, and one hint, almost every object you have in there is dynamic, change them to static and you will get better framerates, good lighting, maby a little more varity in the lighting though instead of all one color, very nice for your first game, i died once and i was walking thorugh the lvl and i got to a dark part once and jumped because there was a zombie i didnt kill lurking around

oh, was that zombie the one in the jail part, thats another glitch, the jail cell door is dynamic, so the zombie must have gone through it.
the first glitch im going to have to fix also, happend to me also.
near the end, did the ZiZombie die? he doent seem to die when i use him.

ok, now one weird thing, i turned almost all the dynamic entities to static, tested game and got super low framerates.
why is that?

I think its because they're being built as the level which obviously causes framerate probs....trying using static and dynamic in different places. And avoid large areas with many static object in...

Ok..That was one bad thought lol...

Wow...

Good job mate!

Only thing I can think of is that the "office" (first pic), doesn't really look like an office, it's too industrial and grungy to be like an office, clean and precise....

Other than that excellent lighting, slightly generic story but hey who cares I wanna kill some freaks, and I can't to see what they look like.....

im planning to have 10 levels in the full game.
also, i see what you mean with the "office" i could make it look cleaner, but then again, it takes place 2 days after a chemical breach, therefore, isnt everything supposed to look dirty?

Hmm....

Yehh...but it's not a sort of leaked chemical kinda dirty, more a sort of general grunge...

You really want to make an environment people can relate to, say, if you work in an office, style it on that, then add bodies, fallen sheets of paper, blinking desklights, fallen over monitor screens.....

People are really scared of somethig they can relate to being destroyed, because then they can imagine it happening to them more....

Psychology....

ok, the levels will be useing the 1.08 update, therefore the framerates will be averaging 25-30fps instead of the 0-10 fps before.
new download on first post
