This looks really awesome.
That's a lot of stuff on the screen though... What kind of framerates are you getting?

Wow, I'm impressed with the level design/lighting as well. I'd be interested in the frame-rate also. Keep me posted on your progress with this one (especially when you complete a demo, or the whole game).

How'd you manage to put so many entities in there and keep the great framerate!

My frame Rates: 32 fps all the time.

Useing FPSC 1.07

My system specs:
Athlon64 3700 OC'ed 2.5ghz
2gb ram
7600gt
160gb hard drive
Windows XP
Virtual memory: 4096mb

all static, with some dynamic

I think FPSC is faster when you use Multiple floors, (up down)

making it faster and keeping better frame rates.
Like I said B4 ill get a demo up this week some time.

also, i brightened it up, after looking at the pics on a LCD
I built the level on a CRT.

o and all of that in the pic's is one Level

Wow - just wow. Excellent level design, great lighting. I have one reservation:

There is no such thing as the perfect story! haha

O yea also heres the demo:

http://files.filefront.com/Mars+At+War+Demorar/;9703518;/fileinfo.html

please tell me if the link works, sometimes Filefront links don't work.

Note:
The demo doesn't have a story, just the map.
also it takes a pretty fast pc to run it, but i would like to know what your system specs are and how it ran. Thanx Have fun with it.

Pain,

A very nice sci-fi feel to it, with lots of stuff that probably does stuff. I enjoyed wandering around and looking at that stuff. All in all, a great environment.

FPS stayed above 30 most of the time. There were a couple of problem areas that dropped to a crawl, but for the most part playable.

Athon64 4200 Dual Core
3GB DDR@400
nVidia 8600GT w/512MB
Windows XP Pro.

Best.

Is that better the the 8800? or is it a different series? If you run X10 with that, I'm gonna get that instead. Depends on if you have X10 with that(and no problems)...

Sorry for the bump.

Anyways, nice game(Haven't downloaded it yet). From the Screenies, nice.

Orrion Carn,

There is a new serries of Nvida cards out, the "9"'s and there probally for sure dx 10 but I think there PCI-E 2.0
so you cant just put them in any PCI-E box

and thanx for playing the demo xplosys, and I already fixed the lagg areas, some of the light maps were crossing eachother and I found in some of my Custem segments were I put doors, it would cut a hole right threw the floor, I fixed it and fixed alot of the lagg areas.

Orrion Carn,

Sorry, that should be 8600GT, not 9600. Fixed it.

Pain, glad you got the bad spots fixed. I know how difficult that can be.

Quote: "some of the light maps were crossing eachother"

Can you explain that a little for me?

The Light range. The circle from the light, it sometimes in a single room, crosses with another light and causes lag

atleast thats what iv noticed.
But, yea its a pain in, well, the neck.

I might be wrong or it might just be my Computer, (playing tricks on me again)

who knows, FPSC is pretty buggy, and sometimes for no reason at all
but, Ill make the first 5-6 levels and post it with story, this will take about a week or 2.
