Don't really know what pratical use it would have for a civilian, other than being an awesome toy

Nice, but it would have been more useful if the car was air tight instead so you don't get wet. At the press of a button the roof comes out. The car looks pretty cool though, even as a land vehicle. I loved the auto drive although I bet it's illegal in most countries.

It looks amazing, but yeah, who in their right mind wants to drive through the sea with no protection, end up soaking wet, smelling of fish (or worse). If they made a hard-top version, more like a submarine then it would be incredible, right now it looks just a bit OTT. Just because a convertable can drive under water, doesn't mean that it should - those nice chewy heads sticking out would just be shark bait, and in the UK at least, god only knows what you'd be dragging your face through :-x.

less is more, but if less is more how you keeping score?

Yeah, I saw this a couple of days ago on the gadget blogs. Amusingly it is a converted Lotus Elise so it keeps that Bond theme going (Lotus Esprit in films). My bird has a red upgraded version (4.8 0-60). Totally awesome car but is like getting in and out of a bathtub (with limited head room) and you look like you are being born getting out of it until you have mastered the technique of sliding on (big sill to slide your bum on) and looking like something out of Duke of Hazzard But yeah, it looks the mutts nuts, and sticks to the road like mustard with pretty awesome accelaration (not to 100mph; my Scooby could beat it then).

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

Actually when you think about it they should have used the Exige, which is pretty much the same as the Elise but with a hard top instead of soft top. Then again they leak like buggery even when just raining (and if you watch Top Gear you need to have a *lot* of sealant to even have a slight hope of keeping the water out)... I remember bad storms a while back and my bird's car really became like a bathtub. Was like 3 inches of water on the floor after some major puddles Luckily the inside is practically the same as those things you made in metalwork at school...

Cheers

That car looks like a prop from a science fiction movie the fuel it runs on is pretty amazing.

Did anyone else notice that when it drove out of the water at the end, the passenger seat was empty? I wonder what he did with the girl...

Modelled and rendered in Blender. Free software ftw.
