Yeah, I will be getting an after market cooler if I decide to over clock the cpu. I havent been able to get the cpu to even run hot to where it kicks in the the mobo q-fan, so its not a rush. I may do some prime95 tests just to see. It currently idles at 32c, and under max load i havent seen higher than 42c. The northbridge is a different story.

Ah, right, that thing - lol. Yeah I kinda liked it, and youre right, it did help, when I unhooked the wires the other day to do the hiding. I still cant believe that to this day the mobo and case manufacturers havent standardized a plug that goes to the mobo, without any thought required. The could even just make the case side configurable. This q thing is sort of a hybrid, in between.
Quote: "What do you think between the new sig and the old one?"
I like them both. I really like the colors and the theme of the V one, but at the same time I hate the hand gesture
Stick with the new one for a while, and surprise us every so often with another brilliant sig
Wanna make me one?
Quote: "That fan looks really loud!
CR is the noise on that beast?"
this is the quietest pc I have ever built, and its fairly amazing considering there are 4 120x25 case fans (1 intake, 3 exhaust) plus the cpu fan. The case fans all run at about 1000-1200 rpm so they are <20db, and the cpu hasnt ever gotten hot enough to trigger the q-fan to raise the cpu fan rpm, even in games like cod4 and crysis. The only thing I can hear is in games when Riva knocks the GPU fan up to 80% (idles at 60%-dead quiet).
Quote: "no, on CPU fans, generally bigger is quieter because they run slower(RPM), so less noise.
Stock Cooler runs at about 3,200 RPM were as my Blue Orb runs at 1,500."
this stock cooler fan idles at 1100 rpm, and I have it set to use the mobo q-fan preset of "Optimal" which keeps all the fans (case and cpu) on quiet settings (low rpm) when cpu temp is low, but will kick them up as cpu core temp rises. I have been reading about cooling and all sorts on overclock.net. Its a pretty great site with a lot of talented people that do all sorts of sick overclocks, case mods, mods, ghetto mods, cooling, etc etc. Anyone interested in this kind of stuff should check that site out. I joined as my same nick here, look me up if you join. we can +rep each other

Nice, looks like all my past rigs, no where to hide anything. Get a few rounded 40 pin cables to replace the ribbons, and a few wire zip ties and you'll clean it up in no time, and improve the air flow.
