I now look at all IT/computer jobs as not being real jobs, because you don't put any real effort into it, no use of muscles, just sit there all day playing flash games."
These comments always make me laugh, as if anyone can sit around doing nothing and keep their job!. I used to get it a lot working as a project engineer, from people who couldn't zip their fly without a detailed schematic. Truth is that a lot of people in offices actually work, and unless you've worked in an office you shouldn't make assumptions.
From someone who has done some real cruddy packing jobs, I can honestly say that working with computers is infinitely better. You get back what you put into any job, personally I concentrate on saving people time and the company money, and people appreciate how much easier I can make their jobs. I'm actually first in line for any spare cakes, and that's not to be sniffed at.
Of course it's not like a real job in a warehouse with half the pay and twice the idiots, and I don't go home knackered every day, and I can't be replaced by a trolley jack, but it does me fine!

This is a strange place to make a post like this, because everyone here must be a bit geeky. When you have a geeky job, you get to use your brain, drink coffee, earn more. I think 95% of people who say they wouldn't like office work would absolutely jump at the chance to work in an office.
