Who is your favorite NASCAR driver? Mine is Dale Earnhardt Jr. (88). I have been a fan since 1997 and have been a Jeff Gordon fan up until 2002 when I switched to Dale Jr.

Favorite Drivers:
Dale Earnhardt Jr. (88) (33 1/3%) (Sprint Cup)

Marcus Ambrose (21) (33 1/3%) (Sprint Cup)

Mark Martin (8) (33 1/3%) (Sprint Cup)

I find the concept of driving around and around for n laps gets tedious quite rapidly. I just cringe when I think about the oil consumed from that.

I was a little disappointed in Onions little satire.... I'm a NASCAR fan and I could make better fun of the sport than that.

Sometimes, people don't realize the team work, strategy, and endurance that the sport requires, but then it's not for everyone. Naturally, I would rather be driving bumper-to-bumper at 190mph than just watching it, but then the same goes for baseball or golf. They can be pretty boring to watch.

Mark Martin is my favorite. He's a class act.

Best.

Well I thought it was good . I fail to understand what would drive someone to watch cars driving fast turn left for 3 hours .

Ugh... NASCAR has to be the absolute worst televised sport ever, no offense. I, just like Gil, cannot understand how it's entertaining. Like Grandma I also feel that it's a huge waste of natural resources. Why don't the activists go after NASCAR and other motor vehicle racing organizations. That's a whole lot of useless air pollution and wasteful use of our 'dwindling' oil supplies. I'm sure it contributes to the theory of global warming (no i'm not sold on that hooha yet).

I wonder if they stop races on 'ozone action alert days' or whatever they're called where we're not even allowed to mow our lawns or drive unless absolutely necessarry

I guess if NASCAR was more like F-Zero or Pod Racing or something it'd be fun to watch...

I understand the draw, and I understand why some don't get it, but it's the biggest crowd drawing sport in the US, so there must be something to it.

Perhaps it's the Tim Taylor sindrome. 700HP - 9000RPM - 200MPH. Arrrrhhh Arrrhhh! Huuuuh? LOL Or it could just be the spectacular crashes. That would be the same as watching a prize fight to see someone get pounded.

Where else will you see 4 tires changed, the grill cleaned, and the gas tank filled in 13 seconds?

Best.

NASCAR would be better if they cut the televised portion to the crashes and left the rest of it on the cutting room floor. Golf, women's soccer, and synchronized swimming all are more entertaining to me and guess how often I watch them .
