Hi everyone, attached is a preview of my first attempt at making segments. Texturing models is one thing but making seamless ones, WHOAH!

I never thought it would be such a challenge. Heres to all those great segment makers out there.

There are plenty of free texture sites around with textures that can be edited (made seamless) to suit a first person shooter game.

Painting textures completely from scratch is difficult and very time consuming. Unless your game is sci-fi this is going to eat up a lot of your development time.

I found this tutorial brilliant and enabled me to start making much better seamless textures within a couple of hours of employing these methods.

Here is a screenshot of the same segment floor after using the methods demonstrated in the tutorial link provided.

Good work on starting custom segments. Given thats what you'll be spending a fair amount of time in an FPSC game looking at, it's a good idea to know how to make them look as good as possible.

Thank you very much. Though, I did use photos, which I edited to make half seamless in photoshop.

nice well if your using entity workshape there is a function that will let you in large your texture and since your textures are plain colors so you wont have to worry about blurring the texture.

It looks like that from a distance but its actually an image of a painted wall. Its just the way I have the light hitting it, etc...
