Well, he talks about how he's in the "no spin zone," and yet he uses more "spin" than a racecar driver. He uses extremely cheap scare tactics and borderline-crude talk to keep an audience together, and makes comments so rediculous that he often hurts the things he supports. I think it's hilarious when I hear an O'Reilly supporter bash Moore for his exagerations, it's something more than I double-standard I think.

As per hospitals:

Quote: "and harms more people than it helps"

That's why last time I went in there healthy and came out with a broken leg.

It's a pretty silly thing to say without any supporting facts.

Anyway, I believe both O'reilly and Moore are liars and cheaters, and hurt more than they help!

It's all black and white to you, isn't it? I mean, if you bash Michael Moore you *must* be a fan of Bill O'Reilly.

Studies show that six people die every day in the state of Florida ALONE because they lack health insurance. And that's just Florida! Two people die in Ohio every day from a lack of insurance. And these are nothing compared to California, where 8 people die every day because they don't have health insurance. Here's the report from Families USA... the numbers are staggering. And it isn't that these people are lazy or something, they simply can't afford coverage. It's easy for someone not in that situation to criticize someone who is, because they haven't faced similar hardship.

Article about how the American healthcare system is broken (unrelated to insurance companies, but we have a TERRIBLE health care system in the US).

Here are infant mortality rates, where the US comes in at 19th place, behind France, Germany, Belgium, and other countries. The World Health Organization puts the United States in 37th place... guess who has better health systems? San Marino, Andorra, Malta, Singapore, Oman, Monaco, Colombia, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Chile, Dominica, and Costa Rica... just to name a few. We spend 2.5 times as much as any other country, per person, so why is it so messed up? I'll give you three guesses, but you should only need one.

A famous case of a woman who died after being denied treatment. Maybe it's because she had an outstanding warrant, or maybe it's because she lacked insurance (a lot of people have speculated the same thing)... either way, it's disgusting and pitiful that she had to die. I hate frivolous lawsuits but the family is suing for $47mil -- $1mil for every minute they didn't treat her -- and I think they deserve every penny of it. Something, ANYTHING, has to shake up this system before it gets any worse.

You just backed up Bill O'Reilly a short bit ago, and bashed Moore a few posts before that lol, so there is some gray in there

I watch The Factor every night, and yes I also support Ann Coulter. I am not aware of any lies that either have said, and what are these scare tactics you mentioned?

In the Netherlands, we are kind of like France. You missed that we still pay for a lot of things extra, like health insurance and school, although they're paid partially. Most of these are forced by law and you will get fined for missing out on these. Actually, homeschooling is prohibited here, as is driving without insurance or living without health insurance. Not only that, but in this country everything is near perfectly documented. You won't be able to skip taxes here.

Jinzai, you're oblivious to the lies and the scare tactics that O'Reilly and Coulter use *against* you because you get your news from Fox . Jerico had a really great link posted above... visit that . As for scare tactics, that part is obvious. "War on Christmas?" What? Are you serious? Of all the issues in the world, that's his biggest concern? And don't get me started on his stance regarding taxes. He likes Bush's tax plan because HIS taxes were lowered. How many of the people who watch his show every night get a tax cut? Not many, if any at all. Do you earn $120k/ year Jinzai? Did your taxes get cut or raised under the current tax plan? If you respond with the latter, then you're just like the rest of O'Reilly's fans. You believe what he says without stopping to think about it on your own. I like Michael Moore, but at least I take the time to question what he's saying and investigate things on my own... I don't blindly believe everything he says and assume it's accurate, or even right. Getting your news from a biased source is one thing... getting your opinions from one source is something entirely different. Your opinions should be just that... your own.

People like Bill O'Reilly and Ann Coulter throw cheap insults at liberals because they can't manage to string together an intelligent sentence about the topics they're backing or arguing against. They use scare tactics ("War on Christmas" or "Socialized Medicine" ringing any bells?) and do more to help terrorists than stop them, to switch gears out of the blue lol, by scaring everyone and giving them false impressions of the situation. I can't really open up heavily about this because I'm tetering on the edge of the AUP as it is, but seriously, email me sometime and I'll be happy to explain why Bill O'Reilly and Ann Coulter should both be ignored. They're on my top ten list of the worst non-criminal people alive today, and with very, very good reasons.

I just wish I were more famous and had the opportunity to take on O'Reilly AND Coulter, at the same time, on the same stage, in a debate about current issues. If I lose, I have to be O'Reilly's personal assistant for a year, and proofread the rest of Ann Coulter's horribly-written books. If I win, they both have to shut up for a year. Bring it.

Mine is getting converted to foreign currency and saved in an account.

When do we get these checks, anyways, and how do we tell the IRS where to send them?

Leadwerks, if you filed taxes this year as an independent, you'll get your stimulus check between now and August, depending on the last two digits of your social security number. 00-09 already have their checks, 90-99 get their checks in August. 50-59 would get their check in late June or Early July I think, so it depends on where you are on that scale.

Well, you are free to disagree, but...none of that is factual. The things you cite are true.

I do agree that both are abrasive when they interview liberals, but that's because the don't accept the sort of logic stretching and outright lies being foisted upon them. Add Sean Hannity to that mix, too...he's self-righteous, but...

They represent people's viewpoints, too.

Its also equally intolerant of you to state what you are stating.

It is okay for Moore to lie 10% of the time? Not to me. Going into K-Mart headquarters and asking for a refund for a bullet lodged in a victim is well beyond the charter of a documentary that is supposed to help explain a tragedy.

That is typical of the leftist view, and not at all what I believe in.

You have a right to your opinion. You don't have a right to degrade me for having mine when it does not line up with your view.

Fox News is by far the ratings leader in news because people respect its fair and balanced treatment. That's a fact.

Quote: "You don't have a right to degrade me for having mine when it does not line up with your view."

Which is EXACTLY the point I was trying to make. Ann Coulter has a book called "How to talk to Liberals." That's not degrading? That entire book is designed to insult liberals and make conservatives out to be superior. You say they're abrasive when they interview liberals, because "they don't accept the sort of logic stretching and outright lies being foisted upon them." Actually, when you present these people with facts, statistical, actual facts that prove them wrong, they start throwing around insults and trying to act superior because they can't handle being proven absolutely dead-wrong. And they're wrong A LOT. There's no "logic stretching" in looking at hard numerical facts. There aren't any "outright lies" in actually taking the time to talk to someone living through a bad situation to find out what they're going through, and trying to consider their predictament. O'Reilly, Coulter, and others are completely oblivious to what's happening down here in the real world, and hypnotize their audiences into an anti-liberal frenzy. Because it's far easier to simply hate a group of people than to try and debate with them.

Quote: "Fox News is by far the ratings leader in news because people respect its fair and balanced treatment. That's a fact. "

Is it now? Actually, CNN is the number-one prime time news source in ratings, NOT Fox. They might claim they're number one, but they aren't. They've been "de-throned" in the past a number of times as well, by MSNBC. And the only people who respect their "fair and balanced treatment" are Fox News fans who don't know to look at any other source of news. A quick tour of the internet can tell you that. They're the least ethical of the news networks, and by far the worst source of so-called "news" I've ever seen. Find me a non-editorial news report on CNN or some other news station that's even remotely as biased. Please. I'm serious. Everything on Fox is an editorial... even when they claim they're proper journalists. Everything is slanted in a conservative way, and that's why no one really takes them seriously, beyond their viewers of course. If they're so fair and just, why did Hillary Clinton, and a number of other liberal politicians, decline interviews with them? Because they knew, as a fact, that Fox journalists are on a mission to make Liberals look as evil as they can. And as a viewer, they make you think the same thing, without trying to shed any light on the views of these individuals. Fair and balanced? Prove that to me.

I'm sorry Jinzai if I'm coming across as attacking you personally. I'm really not trying to. But Fox News flat-out brainwashes people into thinking there's no other worthy source of news, and I've yet to see a single piece of noteworthy journalism on Fox. If anyone feels like stepping up to the plate and proving me wrong, be my guest. Prove that they're "fair and balanced" and abide by journalism ethics without slanted opinions working their way into every story. I've been asking people to do this for several years now and no one's even tried.

Edit: And Michael Moore's K-Mart thing was done to prove a point, which it did quite well, in fact. The victims were certainly for it, it isn't like he coaxed them into doing it or anything. Though I wouldn't be surprised if someone from Fox tried to make you think that's what he did, lol.

@Matt - Just shut up about the politics already. We don't care that you have an issue with Ann Coulter and Fox News. We've heard you say this dozens of times over the years you've been here, and it's getting old. Honestly, I know you love to dance on the line of the AUP, but you are just sounding like a maniac with your rants, and frankly it's tiring.

Quote: "You just backed up Bill O'Reilly a short bit ago, and bashed Moore a few posts before that lol, so there is some gray in there"

The what now? I never backed up any reporters. I don't even have Fox News.

If you have issues against conservatives, save them for your own forum. I would say the same thing about a conservative ranter as well, so don't go accusing me of being a sympathizer.

Like was said before, we are free to have our own beliefs and we don't need zealots making fun of others because they have views that aren't hip or trendy for today's hedonistic society. This is Geek Culture, not Matt Rock's personal vent receptacle.
