EDIT THIS GAME IS DONE CHECK THIS THREAD

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=132493&b=25

Story:

My name is Eric Springfield, I'm just a regular guy...until that day that tanks rolled down Smith Avenue. I didn't know what was happening, the soldiers came out, went into the hospital, came out about ten minutes later and then fired at it, destroying it, killing everyone in there.

The hospital had victims of a disease that people who worked in the military factory got. Nobody had lived long enough when they got it to see the effects of the disease. But, people mutated, becoming strange creatures.

Well it soon began spreading all over the country, and soon the world. The government took everything, money, everything. Soon the military was firing on civilians, they didn't care, they just wanted to kill the infected people, and end the epidemic.

I have moved into this warehouse to stay safe from the military, it is my plan to fight back...

So the story should unravel throughout the game. And you will basically go through the warehouse, taking out soldiers and find some zombies, etc.

I have almost finished level 1, and here are some screens.

I plan to have 4 levels, as of now, I will plan more as the game progresses.

As for the screens, I need some crit, I personally like the light color, however I could use some opinions. I know I probably shouldn't start a thread this early in production but I'd just like to see what you guys think.

I'm developing this at IGD, I just want to know what some people here think.

Beta DL

I don't think they look bland at all. I think that if I went to an old warehouse, that is what I would see. But don't quote me on that.

The screens look good. Add some trash and other random stuff on the ground like sheets of paper to bring it to life more. I really like the fog, it gives it a really eerie feel to it.

It was the horrorpassage and I believe the monster growl from your tutorial. Great job on them, BTW

The fog lends the atmosphere a nice mysterious vibe, although it's easy enough to throw fog into any game. Take out the fog and the level design looks a little uninspired. But assuming the fog was deliberate, you've done a decent job making this game look atmospheric.

Thanks, both of you! I changed the fog to a brownish color to make it more like a "haze". Another screeny, still bland though.

Yeah as said above the fog makes this game, its the lighting design makes the fog work well though, you should concentrate on these aspects and use shorter corridors with some really dark areas and twists and turns, cutting down on the need for more entity's and disorientating the player, scaring them witless with crawling things that appear out of the dark
