I was at my friends house and he really was interested in how I made my games. So I showed him FPSC and downloaded the free version onto his computer. HE tried it and thought it was pretty cool. His eight year old brother saw us testing one of his levels and he really wanted to try it. His game ended up turning out better than my friend (his brother). I told him that I would post some of his levels up for showcase on the internet. Here is his first level, and the story he wrote for it (no editing).

Level name: Robot Attack

Story: you are in a space staton that is gonna be blown up by evil robots and you have to use your big machine gun to shoot all of them and at the end you must kill the lead bad robot!!!!!!!!!

You guys can give crits, but don't be too harsh, I will be showing him and he is only eight.

For eight years old, that is actually very good. Especially for what you're given in stock media!

Really show him how lightmapping can help add to the environment and mood of the levels, and perhaps try and get him to purchase the full FPSC with one or two model packs to add to his inventory, and I believe that he has a lot potential with this! No joke.

Well, all I can say is great job man, keep it up!

(P.S. Let him know the FPSC community is fantastic, and there are countless people on these forums that contribute so much for everyone. Hint, there is tons of free entities, models, mods, etc. that he can get for free thanks to those who've contributed them)

I just played it. It's pretty good for an 8 year old. If he makes anymore games, will you put them in this thread?

Yeah, I will be putting all of his games and maybe some of his brothers games in this showcase. Right now, the two of them are working together on a ww2 level.

Looks nice for a eight yearold, and seeming as its the free version I guess you cant change the lighting? or can you? you can edit the fpi files to adjust the lighting.

Looks nice And I'll take it for a little spin.

Looks really great! Even if he were older this would still be acceptable for first map. I have no possibillity to test the .fpm since I am at holiday (but I brougth my laptop and 3G Broadband , and actually I did bring FPSC to, will install it later on today) but looking on the screenies tells me that this 8year old kid has a lot of potential in gamedevlopment.

Just work a little more with ligthmapping is the only thing I would like to see that could be better.

Good luck!

Yeah, I am going to get him to lower the ambiance on his next map so that it is more noticeable. I told them that if they complete a game, I will post it up.
