Hey, happy Fourth of July TGC Forum! Even though the weather outside is a bit crummy, it should still be a fun day.

Haha, my American exchange teacher described independence day today, and she basically said 'So independence day was created because we decided we didn't want to be ruled by you any more... Sorry.'

Personally I think we should take back America, you were ours once and you'll be ours again - I mean, think if you had your own pet American, it'd be so cool - I'd battle them and trade them, I can imagine kids on the street - "My Texan will so own your hillbilly!"

Breaking what rules? Joking around about a war that's long, long, long gone. And an empire that's long gone too.

uh... theres a parade... You wear red white and blue... There used to be a circus in town, and their used to be a really nice fireworks showing, but the place they launched them got turned into part of the mall.
So, usually, a bunch of people come over and you have a cook out, eat food, have a good old time.

Infact, my Grandparents are downstairs as i type this!

the parade goes right in front of my house. I stand on my porch and glare angrily at the people who line up in front of my driveway and on my lawn to watch it.

completely.

It's aweful, with all the noise and all the people, and not being able to drive anywhere until it's all over.

EDIT: I could go into an entire list of why I hate it, but i don't really feel like it, the people are finally starting to disperse from in front of my house, I can finally drive to Denny's and get some breakfast.

I generally don't go anywhere, but sometimes I turn on my sprinklers and water the lawn to get people to sit someplace else.

Haha. My church did a fund raiser were people could pay us to run up to peoples houses and put a bunch of those flamingos in them. And then people could pay to have them removed, or to know who payed us to do it.

Wow, let me say that that was one very lucrative fundraiser

A happy fourth to all! It's barbecue and fireworks time! Unfortunately we didn't get any fireworks to use outside of our house because our city has a thing about fires :/ . We're still going to a show though, so that'll be cool. Funs!

You mean you're not aware that England and America are both run by us, the Dutch? Independence, hah.

If South Park is right in their claims, then the only good thing about the Dutch is that they'll replace the Canadians once they're gone - so I question your power as a Dutchman.

I chose to use Independance Day as an excuse to drink and be merry, bit disappointed that not one question in the pub quiz was 'what is celebrated today?' though, I would have been sooooo happy if it was. Oh and Higgins stop trolling you prick.

What with thanksgiving and independance day it seems america really has it covered as far as excuses to eat and drink excessively go. What Britain needs is a War of 1812 day.
