Well I really don't know much about this at all but I really enjoyed the PoP games and now I hear they'r making a movie about them. I'm so useless I even forgot what the actor for the Prince is called but if I remember then I'll add it.

If anyone has any information about this or has an opinion on this... Please go ahead

Well... No, my name IS actually 'sinisterstuf' not 'Sinister Stuff', a misspelling resulting from the former having too many characters with no spaces in between

thanks CattleRustler!

"I Heard It Through the Grapevine"

I've only briefly played the games. I don't know, I just can't see it being any good of a movie.
Perhaps I am wrong. Still waiting on that Halo movie though.

It wasn't that good of a game (The new ones).

The second in the series was complete bullocks. Who thought it was a good idea, that a few minutes of the way through the game they should require you to live with a (short) countdown for the rest of the god knows how many hours of game play. Ungh.

It sucked hard core.

Hurray for teh logd!

I think I had one of the versions on a demo CD, for the Xbox.
I quite enjoyed it, but never went any further than playing on the demo. I think its one of things that can get boring... Fast.

Like Assassins Creed.

Or sliding your face over a cheese grater, Slowing humming "Battle Hymn of the Republic"
Although, saying that, I would much rather be playing Assassins Creed.

Yeah, the first one was the best, the second one was... Dumb, and the third was the runner up that licked the <you know whats> of the second. Because how is it possible that HE is the only one that can resist the sand? Without the dagger? AND how can the Dagger of time exist, if the sands of time(Which the dagger is the key for) has been destroyed in part 2?

Because the sands was destroyed by poking it with a dagger... So the dagger is still intact and may be kept as a souvenihr. idk, I never got very far in II or III but played I over and over again. I just get some strange satisfaction out of reppetitively slashing hoards of identical enemies to pieces with cool acrobatics, a massive sword and slowmotion effects!
oh, how I wish I had a pc that was good enough to play Assassin's Creed!

[EDIT]
@BigAdd
I love that pic, did you make that? lol

Really...
Damn man, how far do these guys go with the whole time thing?! Somehow in every game, no matter the plot, there is always a reason for him to be able to rewind and stuff even if it has nothing to do with how it happened in the previous one. It's all a bit contrived...

Wasn't Joel referring to the actual first PoP game (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_of_Persia_%28video_game%29)? You young people need to go back to your gaming history classes.

Why would they make a movie for that?! That game was awful to me because I think they should have made an assassins creed game that game was more real. I felt like prince of Persia was just like playing a cartoon. Still I hope it turns out will it will be interesting to see how this goes.

The new prince of persiia game however sounds amazing, it uses a slightly cel shaded style and is built on top of the assassins creed engine.

Wasn't the Assassin's Creed engine based on the Prince of Persia engine

Please tell me you're joking. POP3D is widely regarded, and rightfully so, as the worst in the entire catalogue.

Sorry? I thought the Sands of time was the best one Unless thats not POP3D, but I thought it was... since whenever I looked for images of it, it came up with Sands of Time pictures.

So it's gone full circle, but to be fair the assassin's creed engine was heavily modified, with directx 10 / next-gen console support plus crowd mechanics and all that wierd stuff.

PoP3D is not Sands of Time (there was four PoP games before SoT). I refer to the link in my previous post, which can be used to find a list of all PoP games in chronological order. As I previously stated, you young people need to go back to your gaming history classes .

Funny, since I still can't find anything on POP3D, it just all redirects to Sands of Time... Oh well, better go get my gamecube back from the dust and play them again.(With an insanely annoying controller)

I am not sure how this Prince of Persia movie will turn out in the end, I hope for the best with it. Although, if they put as much time and effort into the movie as with the new Pop game it should be a stellar movie. The new game looks incredible to the game itself; to the story of the tree of good and evil, I cannot wait to get my hands on it. Let's all just hope they do it justice. The Resident Evil movies I thought were alright, so lets hope for that kindof quality rather than crappy Doom the movie quality.

Watching some of the footage from E3(specifically when the prince removes the curse/whatever from an area) of the new PoP game I couldn't help but thinking they were more than a little inspired by Okami.

The only PoP game I've really played all that much was SoT which was cool. I guess a PoP movie would have the potential to be good. I think there is enough action, story, etc there to make it into a film. However based on the fact that most game to movies suck, I suspect this one will too.
