One mod being greater than another Mod is always and forever going to be a personal opinion based upon personal experiences and biases.

You cannot be sure about it until you try it for yourself. You now have PBUM full version, so you have the entire thing to play around with and test and compare with this Mod, which you can also have to play around with and test to your heart's desire.

I, personally, don't believe this Mod has achieved the status that PBUM has, but that's because I know what's contained within both. I have spoken with Hockeykid about his Mod and what features he has put into it and what he's been working on. What he has done so far is great, no doubt, but the feature list still pales in comparison. I'm sure if he continues to work hard at this, it will become a fantastic Mod someday.

KravenWolf, since I donated RPG Mod can I have your models? After all this did take me 800+ hours to create. When I was a programmer (self-employed) I made anywhere from 100 to 200 US dollars an hour. Do the math.

Hopefully, there won't be too many things to iron out yet -- if anything at all. I may not be able to help often but I will be monitoring this thread through mailbacks.

I have an updated version of FPI EditPad that includes some menu options and also I include the commands list and help list for all the commands. I will eventually get the files uploaded and also get a new install version found on the FPSC download page.

What if say one mod has timer system only and is 5 bucks, but another mod has a timer system and other features and is free? Radical case, but still relevant

God damn, 100-200? Well I guess computer science and programming is def the way for me to go

I must stress, self-employed. Contracting can be good. You also have to know that part of my portfolio includes doing contract work with Microsoft and that I was able to make a kill with them. I was able to do contract work with them because I got to know Bill Gates in the very early days when he was only know by Tandy Corp. and not by the whole world.

However, being gainfully employed, you can make a good salary as well. Added: You probably can make a pretty decent salary as a game developer but I imagine the positions are not easy to come by.

As I have pointed out elsewhere. If both sport the same amount of optimizations, the one with JUST the timer will no doubt run faster than the one that has added features. So it's now based upon whether people value speed or those additional features. It is again going to be based upon personal agendas.

Quote: "RPG Mod is now fully integrated with Fenix Mod!!!!"

I heard this from you over Skype but never dropped in to say my grats.

I hope everyone will realize what kind of scripting potentials this will open up for them. Hopefully after you've concluded your new features, you can work on speed optimizations and make the Mod even greater still.
Keep going and don't slow down!!!

Of course! Just send me an email, and I'll send you the download. And thanks for the integration, I'm excited about the inventory system alone; perfect for a classic survival horror game (or any game for that matter).

No, it would still be an opinion based on personal preferences, which is what I think he was getting at in the first place. Maybe the $5 mod has a better overall frame rate on "John's" computer than the free mod with all of these shader features, which runs at 2FPS despite the timer; which would obviously put John behind the $5 mod. Maybe John just likes it's simple. No new features, just a timer system. It will always be a matter of opinion.

EDIT: I didn't see that Ply aleady responded on the next page, oh well, I'll still keep my reply up

Hey this mod is awesome! I love it keep up the good work

When I try to build a game with a certain level in it this happens (pic attached).

It's probably not your mod, but you may know how to fix it. Every other level builds fine and I really don't want to remake this level because I have put hours into it.

Thanks

For now try changing the skybox, if that doesn't work try compiling a different level.

I've done both. Any other level I have works.

But even when I change the sky, the level I need to compile still gets the error.

Thanks anyway

You need a hasweap=x (x=weapon path) condition! That'd be great! I'll upload a really great script in a minute.

There are two weapon conditions that is in the mod. I'm not sure it if is in current released mod, however:

usingweapon=x -checks if the player is using the weapon specified by x
notusingweapon=x -checks if the is not player is using the weapon specified by x

Also RPG has the following condtions:

rpg_playerhasweapon(no parmaters) - current weapon being held
rpg_playerhasthisweapon=(weaponslot or weapon name) where weapon name is the name of the gun folder in gamecoreguns

RPG has an entity timer. However, I have given Hockeykid permission to do whatever he likes with my RPG code. If he wants to keep it in or if he wants to use different code then that will be up to him. Here is the condition and action for the entity timer.

CONDITION
rpg_entitytimergreater=(time in milliseconds)

ACTION
rpg_entitytimerstart(no parameter)

Here is my documentation for RPG Mod. Click on download. It is an RTF file.

It might look overwhelming to some at first.

Pretty cool idea but keep there are some errors in your script such as "activate=x".

In other news I have accumulated enough money in donations to purchase the timer but i will have to wait for my "supplier" to come on so we can chat. For now i'm working more in depth with dark ai.

Well instead of using "activate=x" use activateifused=1 and put the name of the door in your ifused field.

Once I get the timer in and I make sure RPG Mod is bug free. (Flatlander if you've found anymore bug's please report them). That does give me an idea. I guess I could use some beta testers.
