I've hit a rut in the road, I'm hoping someone could possibly help me get out?

It all started when I added, one last room to the 1st level here, ever since I've added that room, the game crashes on building the test level. IF I delete the room entirely, as in nothing left of it at all (back to the point where it used to work) it still crashes! I've cleaned the DBO, I've tried cutting down on some detail entities, setting the lightmap settings down a bit, nothing's working! I'd really hate to see almost a months work on one single level go to waste...

Can anyone at all help me out? I'm afraid I may have to re-install, but the problem with that is that usually ends up causing even more problems

Other than that, It'd be starting all over entirely...

It stops at "Building objects [#]" Then a blank box that says Windows Distributable C++ (something along those lines) That sits there forever unless you close it out, once you do it says FPSC has stopped working and it closes out.

Thanks, but it wont be great if it's dead

Anyone have any idea of what could be going on? I'm still at no avail at finding a solution and I'd really like to continue working on this, if after a while a solution isn't found I might just have to start over, don't think I'll have enough time to finish the game before the deadline then though

I remember I got this error a while ago (when I used stock FPSC)If i remember correctly I think I reinstalled my Direct x9 and it worked.

But it seems to only happen on this map, I wouldn't think it's a directX bug, I'll give it a shot though.

EDIT: AH! I haven't solved the problem yet, but at least I may have figured out the source! If lightmapping is turned off, the level builds and loads absolutely fine. Somewhere the lighting is causing a problem. Now I can get to work on trying to fix the problem

Nice man, great to hear you've isolated the issue! Hopefully things go smoothly and you can get back on track with this masterpiece soon

Cheers

Life would be much easier if I had the source code.

Hopefully. and thanks Working on rebuilding the lighting room by room, testing each time

Yes, I love your Debris models thanks for releasing them

EDIT: Ah boy, clear one hurdle, fall face first over the next. If i add ANY lights at all, it crashes with the same error, so basically, I've got "photophobic" level.

Considering re-installing, hoping it won't cause even mroe problems like it usually does..

Well, I am totally at loss of what to do, seeing as I can not find a solution nor can anyone else. I am indeed dropping this project, and starting it over under a new name.

Not going to let something like this stop me though

Good news is, I have many ideas and a storyline planned out all ready to begin work on a newer project, keep an eye out.
Hopefully I have enough time left to scrounge up another entry

Awh man, I'm really sorry to hear about this project. That is an outstandingly bizarre issue! I wonder if it has something to do with the sheer amount of models you've got in your levels, maybe adding lights and thus making the engine try and produce shadows and what not for all the models just...made it unhappy! Who knows man...

I'm really excited and glad to hear you're going to continue on with another project. I can't wait to see what you've got for us

Cheers

Life would be much easier if I had the source code.
