@Arenas,

You could just have the default animations play when killed normally, and melee animations play when killed by a melee weapon. Let's be realisitic here, you're not going to have more than 2 melee weapons in a game, so it wouldnt be that much of a problem.

I don't remember is this asked, but:
Will the static zombie gibs be in this pack? The ones in teh TGC Store used to have?

Now that I see this pack, it mught be even better that they got removed

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things that I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.

LOOKING GREAT!!!

Anyways I currently have some of your zombies, yet I would not mind paying another $19.99 for the same ones + new ones. Especially since they look amazing. The scripts they'll include will most likely be surberb as well.

Awesome! I love them! These Zombies will rock my future Project "Missing in Action".

Okay, just a short question: Do you plan on moddeling any additional Horrorcharacters? like the shroudling or the dogman etc. or even something more strange? I would love some more creatures

Those look very cool, I love the blood with those shaders, looks very realistic on the skin, though I do feel you should lower the normal mapping a lttle on the clothing as it does kinda spoil what is a very good job indeed, well done.
Would love to see you use progressive damage anims on these guy's.

Thanks Rolfy!

I thought about getting fancy with the progressive damage anims, such as making them limp slowly when damaged. But in the end I went for the frenetic L4D type of feel where they are fast, and go down in a single shot. Good for repeated spawning.

But that is a very good idea for a new set of zombies, to break things up a bit for variety. Zombies will be always be popular as long as you keep things fresh.

I cannot wait for this!

But I'm not sure how computer-friendly it'll be until we get good entity instancing. FPSC is none too good with hordes, as I'm sure you all know.

But seriously, I love the circle script. I can imagine being surrounded by zombies, shooting them off with nothing but a pistol... They should make a game around that.

Oh wait.

Great job as always Bond1.

EDIT: I did buy the store zombies, but my computer has since crashed so I'd pay for them. Especially with new shaders.

Herein lies the question that we are all asking Bond1 when will we be able to press the buy button. I'm sure with the ESRB stuff it's hard to say. I for one check Forums daily so will just wait for it. Thanx for all your awesome work. Inspires us all is what it does.

They come with their own shader. MP38 shaders are for non-skinned models.

I guess the model pack should be on sale in about 3 weeks. Although I'm considering "going rogue" and selling it myself until it get approved by ESRB.

I can be patient, however all things considered, you'd definitely have my money the second you released it on your own. Go with what works for you though man.

I would very happily pay the standard price for this amazing model pack.

One question though:

Considering the faked ragdoll effects often fly the corpse a distance back, will it collide with the wall? For example - in a small room, would one collide with the wall or will it fly through it into the distance?
From what I know, corpses have no collision in FPSC.

Well, with the up and coming ragdoll feature (beta out, some have gotten it working) this pack would be even more amazing.

These look very nice.

Are you at any point going to release the Biped seperatly? It seems that you and Erannt have dominated most of the standard animations and practices. The hand rigs, attacks and other very swave extras seem to be a must in most FPSC content.
Sooner or later this month im starting work on a free character and weapon thread which ill update with whatever it is im working on.
I was wondering if i could borrow your supieror scripting skills ( laughed when i read that ^_^) along with the biped to rig up some zombie folk. Ive never drifted to Fpsc Scripting so i have no idea on the setup, though i tend to create alot of models and aniamtion rigs in my spare time so i thought id put it to good use.

If its a no ill use the standard Fpsc rig either that or wait till my assignment is over and learn how to script, so its no loss really.

Im in max 9 still, since am not rich enough to upgrade.

Ill keep an eye out for your reply.

As I mentioned earlier, the "flying back" effect is caused by the mas rifle, so yes the corpses WILL collide with the wall, since the animations are all "in-place". You will get some minor clipping, but no more so than the regular death animation.

But ragdoll is already very far along in X9! By the time this pack gets released in a few weeks, I think most savvy members will be using ragdoll by then!

I'll probably release the bipeds separately at some point, but not until the pack earns it's money back and recoups the cost of the ESRB rating. So probably in 6 to 8 months.

For this type of content I think it's $800 or so. So the first 40-50 copies sold will be throwaway sales. So it'll take a bit of time to recoup that, but zombies and gore sell well in the long run.

Wow, they love to burn holes in your pockets. I never knew the prices were that high. An yeah i understand your motives behind keeping the biped for a later date. I dont blame you. Well i hope this lot line your pockets

This is really cool!
Would it possible to add the new "mob" animation to the old "slow" zombies? That would be fantastic!

I am satisfied with the way your zombies work now.

I have bought rolfys zombies which have progressive damage included and imho his zombies are examples of the fantasy-cliche century old rotting corpses, that stumble mindlessly through dark&forgotten places and have to be "killed" numerous times to be put to their final rest. Your zombies on the other hand are the classic horror movie stock that tend to ignore bullets (xcept for the pushback) until they suddenly collapse.

So I am perfectly fine to have completely different kinds of zombies for different kinds of games

You'll be able to run it with shaders turned OFF. For the character shading shown in the video, you'll need a pixel shader 2.0 card.

Why? What card do you have? Pixel shader 2 is THE most widely supported shader model for directx9, all graphics cards on the planet support it.

EDIT: I noticed from an earlier post that you have an integrated graphics chip. So yes, those things are very poor with pixel shaders. They support it, but they are SLOW...

Desperately need improving? Not for $19.99 they don't dude. For that price they're above par compared to anyone else's characters available in any other model pack or the store.

Now if you'd like to hire me, my freelance rate is $350/day, and I will animate him any darn way you want. So far, with the all the emails I get from people, no one has taken me up on the offer. At least not in the land FPSC users.

I'm not trying to pick on you specifically, but I need to put things in perspective once in a while. In the 4 years I've been making characters for FPSC not ONE SINGLE PERSON has stepped up to give me any real competition. Not when it comes to great looking, scripted characters with custom animations. And it looks like no one ever will. Just like no one has really given Errant any real competition with guns, sure myself and others have made some weapons, but he by and large owns that category.

Sorry for the outburst, a little uncalled for, it wasn't directed at anyone in particular. I'm just a little grouchy I guess.

Quote: "oh on a side note how many days would it take you to normally make a character at $350 a day?"

It depends. A generic civilian male with stock FPSC anims could take as little as 2 days. Something like a Quake character, or anything highly detailed like a soldier with tons of gear, could take a week or more. Then custom animations take a long time as well, depending on how good it needs to look. I read Pixar's animators are expected to create 5 seconds of animation PER WEEK! It takes time to make something look good. Now I'm not saying that I'm on the level of a Pixar animator, but it takes a couple hours to make a good walk/run cycle. And generally I spend about 30-45 minutes per animation depending on how complex it is.

Okay, what i posted came out wrong

what I said was not meant to say I doubted your skill at all, I simply meant that it was an area that was within your skill to improve

I can tell you found what I said offensive, but I assure you I KNOW what you're capable of and that you are No1 in the community for characters and shaders, and probably second for guns (EAI)
