I usually keep to myself with these things but I would like to share this in hopes of getting some constructive comments, also this community has given me a lot of enjoyment with they're free content and in hopes that I might someday be good with this type of stuff I would like to be able to give something back to it.

Only 8mb so it's not that long of a wait, and secondly I love scify stuff!

and before any stats anything about polycounts...I've already reduced them in the final version to a little bit over 4k. The one in the vid has around 8k polys, I just cut down my cylinder segments by half to help with count, I've still got much cleanup stuff to do and things to finish only about 1hr 45m into it atm.

So go ahead...but please don't be to harsh!
currently in FPSC but without texture, screenshot from Sketchup vid. Just download the 8Mb vid... better quality.

Incredible, great model, surely this can't be your first, this is just to good,
Did you design it?
if so that would be something people would pay money for.
Keep it up

This, as it stands, has nothing to do with FPS Creator, its just a SketchUp model, so it belongs in 3d Chat...

Thanks polo, this is my first model of anything. my brother got me sketchup as gift. and yes, I designed it, just came from imagination I guess.

@Vent Opps, call riot police. But thx, I will take more notice next time, completly my fault.

And yes, it will be a model for fpsc soon I hope. I still have lots of learning to do.

That may be so, but the rules state that an in game screenshot is required, no screenshot then post in 3dChat.
Why cant you just wait till you at least have it in game before posting here, getting fed up with these posts which actually shove worthwhile ones off the page, these first model posts were the reason the rules were made in the first place.
No offence but saying you intend to get it into FPSC doesnt mean you should post here and the rules apply to everyone.
It is a nice first model but please try reading the sticky's.

I'm 100% with rolfy on this I too am getting a little bored of trawling through these posts to get to actual FPSC ones

I'd love a forums section where only the Valued, BOTB etc type members could post their stuff and we could only reply. Then I could easily find all good stuff in one place

Man, I'm feeling kind of insulted by that comment... So what if guys like me who are still learning this stuff want to post our work and models here to get some crit?? We'd have to wait till we were dead to get half as many comments as the other, better guys

Ontopic: Im not going to go through the hassle of DLing your model to see what it looks like. Can you please post an in sketchup screeny atleast (it'll get locked otherwise)

Cheers,
Anayar

I'm not currently home atm, but when I get there this afternoon I'll attach a screenie.

@NBT - Wasn't aware that some of us were to be segregated. Sorry if not all of us fit into your breakfast club +1 for the insult -10 on the respect meter.

@rolfy thx rolfy, yeah I screwed up! should have paid more attention to sticky's however the model is already ingame and I'll post an updated screenie when I get home today to do so,just having a hard time with the texture export.

I'm sure Nbt did not wanted to insult you

Huh?? I thought the above was pretty clear to be honest

Nowhere do I say you cannot post your work, or insult your ego, or anything. All I suggested was a section (extra separate section) where the above type members could post there stuff. This in no way says others cannot post their stuff as they have been doing since the forums conception

Where does any of the above insult anyone ?? Please do not read anymore into things than are actually written

Well it felt like you were saying that only the BOTB devs and the Valued Members created "good quality" stuff... I felt that kind of insulting to the effort all the other modelers put in thats all...

Anyways, NVM, my feelings dont matter, all that realy matters is the model and I hope to see it soon.

Cheers,
Anayar

In the past we had tons of these kind of threads the same suggestionsas Nbt made were all suggested then too, I personally dont want to see a seperate 'elitist' board as it would simply mean folks demanding there work is good enough to be posted there, I dont believe ay real offense was meant and wouldnt get too worked up about it, but lets be clear here if your model isnt in FPSC then post it in Chat if you want comments and crit then thats where all the modelers hang out and this board is not a showcase for first models but media for FPSC and we can argue this point all day it wont make any difference, no screenshot in FPSC then it aint related simple as that.
I dont want to be mean to the original poster but most folks visit these forums maybe once a week and dont go beyond the first page so they miss FPSC related media because of this, yes I know its intended to get it into FPSC but you can wait till you have actually done so before posting here its not hard to hold off on that one, meanwhile you can ge comments and crit from actual modelers and texturers over in 3D Chat to get your model more polished and improve your skills at one time we had a page full of crates and boxes as first models and you at least have something a littlemore substantial but we all follow the same rules.
The same thing applies to folks using there threads as an IM service unless you have an update to your media dont be bumping your thread every ten minutes with statements like "get on messenger I want to talk to you" you can e-mail the person or arrange it another way. If people are interested in your stuff then they will comment if not then theres not much you can do about it thats the reason we dont need a seperate board the users decide whats worth keeping at the top of the board and thas how it should be.

Dude, how many polies is that?? Models in sketchup have wayy too many polies and your model looks extremely detailed...so how many is it??

Rolfy, I agree with you but calling media that the best people make quality, and the rest the opposite just isn't fair (IMHO)... I understand that Nbt didn't mean anything by saying it, but all the same...

Cheers,
Anayar

I think your reading too much into what was said but ok I understand where your coming from, simply put if you want crits and comments on your modeling than this is not the best place to do it.
If you want crits and comments or advice on your model in FPSC the POST A SCREENSHOT if its in there, if you want advice on getting your model into FPSC then use the search. There should be no need to ask on this board how to get it in there with a thousand threads and a guide on how to do it.

I originally posted just for creative comments stuff that I could do to improve the model...which should have been done in 3d chat...I know that now. Let this topic die or a mod cleanup the posts we've made and move it to 3d chat to where I can actually get some feed back.

@anayar roughly 4k poly's I've tested it in my maps and it doesn't seem to even be noticable. Although I have roughly 350k-375k polys in 1 map or so that is what the meter tells me after pressing tab.

You have 350 thousand polygons in one map?? Even I don't reach 100 thousand with my most complex maps Better watch how you conserve resources my friend

Most of my maps are large, detailed and contain a lot of different objectives, framerates for me usually stay around 30-40 and this is under the most stressfull situation. But then again, I've droped a few bucks into my pc also, slower pc's without good hardware wouldn't stand much of a chance.
