This is the first model I've ever made, so yeah I'm sure It might not be perfect or w/e but I figured I would share it with you all anyway.

If ya take the time to download, try and take time to leave a thanks atleast.

After downloading browse through the textures and delete the Screenshot which is posted here, or else will probably mess up the model. I'm a complete noob at scripting...so you might just want to brush up my script, collisions can be a problem.

ty vent, I would post the stats but...to be honest I have no idea how to find them in sketchup. Anyway, I've managed to get myself a copy of 3ds max and I'm currently modeling in that atm, hopefully will have a pack ready for you guys in a few weeks.

To the best of my knowledge, I've not seen nothing else like it. Did the whole model in about 2hrs with sketchup. Uhhh! I know, now that I look at it, kinda reminds me of the one from Event Horizon!...maybe that's where I got it from, not sure.

**EDIT** 42 views and 3 posts? atleast leave a thx....

Don't worry about the views to post ratio, if you are expecting an even view to comment ratio you are on the wrong boards. To be honest, you are always going to have more views than comments no matter where you go. I'm afraid you are going to have to get used to it lol.

The ship looks nice, kinda reminds me of the ship out of starship troopers.

Ship looks awesome bro, very good work.

Actually I did get it for free, I'm a student, so basically I just asked my professor. so no....wasn't pirated...I have rights as a student to check out the software for a short period of time, basically until semester is over. Free or not, 3ds max might be good software to some, but doesn't suit my needs, feels restricting, and I can't be as creative in it as sketchup.

Rex,

Sorry a few people accused you of pirating I wasn't trying to get them started on it.

Try blender at www.blender.org. has almost every feature as max with a ton of tutorials and people like Kravenwolf that use it here to make amazing work.

And guys with student licensing...The models created with it cannot be used for commercial games, movies or any other means in which they can generate a profit. So even if you give them away here you need to tell people they are for non-commercial use only. This is all in your student end user license agreement. (that's the thing we all click "next" on and never actually read). Student license is for strictly educational purposes only and by accepting it you also gave Autodesk the right to check with your university and make sure you are a student there, that was on the web page where you signed up to get your user name and password for the students.autodesk web site. (I've been through the student thing before while learning Autodesk inventor). But, Rex, I think blender will work good for you and then you wouldn't have to worry about it.

Now you said this cruiser was done in sketchup so this one's got no problems, and like I said before good job on it, you got skills.

Thx for the advice, If I export my current 3ds stuff to blender can I continue building them there and not have to worry about the whole license thing? and thx for the generous compliment.

I don't see why not, you've stated that your version is a temp license which means you've done nothing wrong and had your teachers permission, so changing software should be fine in this case. Maybe there's someone here that could better answer that, but I would say you'd be alright.

Exactly, I've often wondered why you had to be logged in to view a screenshot but didn't have to be logged in to download, and thx MetalDevil.

Thanks for your help, I snagged blender last night, trying to find my way around in that atm.
