Hi guys!

Many many moons ago we had a FPSC modeling compo which ran a few times but silently died and never return the screenshot compo did well but also died again?

Any one interested? This time around I will be responsible for it, to make sure it doesn't die again.

I just want to check the general consensus. Before I officially edit this first post with the rules and theme.Obviously this is not like the 3d model compo on the 3d models board. This one your media actually have to be FPSC ready and available to every one at the end of the compo if you choose to share. There was time delays with people not here to select the next themes or judge. So I would like to keep it alive so perhaps keep those responsibilities to a single person. So that would be me then.

Are there any objections?

Obviously there is the incentive issue.Well I am willing to sponsor each and every compo with the new tunnels pack or any new media packs in the future.

If possible I will try and arrange for a single badge dubbed Best FPSC Modeler but that is going to take time and have to make sure that there is enough interest and will have to prove that it can run successfully for a few compos before I attempt to contact higher powers.

So are you guys up for it.?

The first theme is "police station".This is not strictly entities only and can be modeled segments as well.

Now for some rules.

1.You may not use some one else's model(s) to pass off as your own.So every thing you make has to be your own or with textures that may be legally use.Obviously any one caught is going to be in trouble with the mods if you use illegal or pirated stuff.

2.Models has to be FPSC ready and requires a screenshot in jpeg format no larger than 800 x 600.

3.Models has to be uploaded to be judged.Either here or off site.

4.Models will be judged on the following.

-Correct scale 5 points
-Texture 5 points
-Fitting the theme 5 points
-Use of shaders 5 points
-Use of polygons (optimized) 5 points

5. You may not use any models that were created before the start of any compo.

6.At the end of each compo the models will be compiled in a pack and made available for every one to download.Should you wish not to include your model please inform. Also attach your license agreement.

Obviously the badge will be addressed once we can gets this successfully off the ground for a few comps at least.

The start date is 13/09/2010 and end date 26/09/2010 two weeks starting tomorrow.

Then from next month starting on the 1st and ending on the 20th.

Just been chatting to my neighbours teenage daughter and it turns out she's big into UFOs and aliens.

Which is cool because tomorrow she's getting abducted.

Scripts and animated entities give me a headache. How about a multi-purpose entity?

A scripted entity contest should be seperate from the standard FPSC entity competition.

Themes generally work best if you pick, well, a theme. Modern day, horror etc.. are all commonly overused ones. Looking in the "model pack ideas" thread could get something good.

How about something subway, or library related?

I'd love to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my bum.

No, the theme is "police station" but could be any era.If you enter multiply objects I think to be fair the objects will be judged as a group instead of individually.

How do you enter, I can send a pic of what I want to make, then make it. I don't understand the date rules. How do I show when I started my, model, Anyway I need a break from my pack?

wizard of id, I e-mailed you a pick of what I would build, now I'm building the model. Thank You

@Zwarte Piet

You can make what ever fits the theme. The date rules are simple. It starts on the 13th and ends on the 26th.Where next month it starts on the 1st and ends on the 20th.

You don't need to show WIP, you can keep it a complete secret, that way no one knows what your up to.The in game screenshot is to show who the winner is and for the judge to see if it does fit the theme, the FPSC ready part is so that the judge can just pop it into FPSC and be able to judge it quickly without the need of having to make it FPSC ready first.

BTW you have excellent an idea.....
