Yes, you can change the rotation point of an object by offsetting the root limb, which is limb zero.

Ho ho, never knew that lol. I always alter the pivot point in my 3d package. Will remember that one

This is sweat! I used this on a limb test tutorial. I believe, I found in one of the news letters. The cylinder rotation is offset on end. It doesn’t rotate from center any more.

The suggestion should work. Have you actually tried it?

Well, if the code above doesn't work (after you have made it match your object). Then you can always do what I have done for years lol, and set the pivot point of the object in your 3D package. After all if you have made a door, it's pivot is only going to be on one of the edges so to speak, so I just move it from center to where I want.

There was some discussion elsewhere about planets rotating around a star, and I just realized that simply moving each planets pivot point would work very well. Doh! And then scrolling the planets texture could work for planetary rotation. Food for thought...

and here's some code...

Offsetting limb 0 IS offsetting the objects rotation point

Can you just set the rotation you want and use set object pivot?

@Benjamin - Is that a actual command? Or are you thinking of FIX OBJECT PIVOT?

FIX OBJECT PIVOT only resets the object to "zero rotations" after whatever rotations the object has, it doesn't affect the rotation point.

Ah yes, I didn't understand the problem correctly.
