i know next to nothing about shaders, but i think that may be a specular map problem?

Yes you need to use the template shader for that type of normal map. What texture maps are you using? You need D,I,N,S.

Zip up and send me ALL the files for the character then. Impossible to know what's going on unless I see exactly what you have.

Got em. I'm posting here for the sake of everyone.

Well, I just got your texture files, so without seeing your FPE I can only guess what went wrong. But all is working here.

Some tips to avoid any unexpected behaviour:
-all textures should be in DDS format, not jpg or png
-the shader should be assigned in the FPE file, rather than using the editor to assign it
-I noticed you're using a mostly white diffuse texture with white areas on your spec map. White + white = blown out areas. I evened out the brightness on the D map and toned down the spec map to be darker overall.

Bond1:

Truly amazing pack and I didn't hesitate a minute to buy this one.

Are you planning to release the bipeds of the characters like you did with the zombie apocalypse pack, with the same license of course? "For commercial and non-commercial use IN GAMES."

I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to try these animations on other characters as well
