FPSC Dynamic Dolls Mod

MASSIVE UPDATE
Version 2.0 Released, this thread is now obsolete except for the
explanation on how the mod works below.
Version 2.0: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=192026&b=21

UPDATE! Version 1.1, includes modified FPSC source so ALL characters work with ragdoll and multiplayer ragdolls.
Download: https://forumfiles.thegamecreators.com/download/2286275
NOTE: 1.1 is compatible with 1.18 and above only.

Quote: "why can't we just have animationless ragdolls without them freezing and ceasing to have physics applied to them?"

Version 1.1 fixes that (if you compile the modified source code)

What it does:

This mod enhances the ragdoll physics for FPSC. The ragdolls will now fall in the direction you shoot them in (without animation ) and you can shoot the ragdolls and they will still have a bloodsplash. Dynamic ragdoll physics works great on Task Force 341 characters as their first death frame is excellent for ragdoll. If you can rig TF341 animations to an entity, that entity's ragdoll physics will be given a big improvement.

How it works:

When you assign the ragdollcorpse.fpi file to an entity's destroy script FPSC will replace the throwback.fpi, throwfore.fpi, throwleft.fpi and throwright.fpi with throwragdollback.fpi, throwragdollfore.fpi, throwragdollleft.fpi and throwragdollright.fpi.
This mod modifies the throwragdoll****.fpi files to skip the animation when the entity's health reaches zero. Then it will go ragdoll.

What versions of FPSC can I use?:

FPSC v.1.16 (1.16.018) (1.0, 0.9)
FPSC v.1.17 (Beta & final) (1.0, 0.9)
FPSC v.1.18 (Beta & final) (1.1, 1.0, 0.9)
and above. (1.1, 1.0, 0.9)

Yes I too would like to see some screenshots.
We never know if its a virus or something...
And i was pretty sure ragdolls didn't work in v1.16

Making someone's day a little better because of one of my models means a lot to me.

The download doesn't contain a 'virus', for one it's a rar file so you can see it's contents before opening and for two it's 2 folders containing FPI files containing the ragdoll scripts.

He also doesn't need to provide screenshots as they're 'scripts' not models or media.

I am however curious as to why he's posted for 116/117 and not 118...

@AJ Schaeffer - You're right. It isn't a 'hard' mod, it's a mere bunch of scripts containing ragdoll actions. It isn't an 'actual modification' of the FPSC source in any way...

Think it just needs rewording :p

Sorry that there weren't any pictures or screenshots. I didn't have the time to upload them. Anyway here is the final official release with documentation. I also might add it works great on TF341 Characters.

I said 116 and 117+ which means it works for 118 as well.

So you could've just said 116+? By seperating the two versions I thought it meant 117+ (beta number)!

Got them downloaded, will give them a try tonight and drop some feedback!

Updating first post soon.

Quote: "what do you do with the ones in 'people' anyway?"

throwragdollback\fore\left and right are coded into fpsc by default. When an entity's destroy script is ragdollcorpse.fpi it will use throwragdollback\fore\left or right instead of throwback\fore\left or right.

why can't we just have animationless ragdolls without them freezing and ceasing to have physics applied to them
we should just have a ragdoll system like in CSS

I appear to have burst into flames...

@Legion012

You're welcome.

@angusm3
It's just that the FPS Creator ragdoll system doesn't work like that. They aren't coded to react to bullets. If you don't want animation with your ragdolls, edit the files ragdollthrowback.fpi, ragdollthrowfore.fpi, ragdollthrowleft.fpi and ragdollthrowright.fpi to look like this:

those files are in the people folder of your scriptbank

the CSS ragdoll system uses HAVOC 2.0 physics which costs a lot of money to use in a commercial product. FPSCreator uses the free ODE (Open Dynamics Engine) physics engine. If you want CSS style ragdoll, you could convert FPSCreator X10's system to X9. But it would take a bit of work.

EDIT: Forget this post
Just in need of some help here, could someone please compile the modified source for me, I can only edit the FPSC source, not compile it. Compiling it and uploading it here for me would be GREATLY appreciated.

Sorry for the double post, but just a question, could somebody please design a banner or logo for the mod\script. If anyone were to do so, it would (just like compiling the source) be GREATLY appreciated. I'm only asking, I don't NEED a logo or banner
On a side note, does anybody want me to make a special version of Dynamic Ragdolls (I'll call it DR for short now) that has FPSC X10 style ragdoll physics? (always go ragdoll and (sort of) react to force) Also, would you like me to attempt to disable ragdolls freezing in position after falling over?

Regards,
-TZK
