Hello everyone I'm on this forum for a long time now but never posted anything

However today I'm proud to present a project me and 5 other friends are actually working on.

This is a pack about Virtual Reality Theme. People who's played Metal Gear Solid will know what we are talking about here.

The pack will contain between 30 & 90 Segments (Rooms, Walls & Floors), featuring a very cool effect on those segments, and a lot of entities and props related to Virtual Training Theme.

We're also working on script, which will be usefull to add alot of cool stuff and effects !

We can't tell you much more for now, but we can show you some Screenshots & 2 Cool videos. We're sure you'll enjoy it

People working with me on this project :

This is our first pack we hope it pleases!
Expected: miscellaneous equipment (barrels and crates), custom scripts (door hacking, computer, infiltration), skyboxes ... and more!

Looks pretty cool. Reminds me a lot of the training areas on System Shock 2.

The custom scripts sound interesting.

Thank you for the interest you show in our model pack, we'd love to include your work in our pack but we must first ask to LeCTODN about that.

We'll keep in touch with you and answer you ASAP, stay tuned.

Great style used on this and it looks cool so far.

You can have and use the model I did (Tank) which might go well with this theme and can be found at the link here:
http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=200201&b=24

Good luck with this.

The meshes I have are segments in different thickness, standard segments are 10 depth, I have them I think in increments of 10 units at a time, 10, 20, 30, 40, 60, 80 and 100, I may have one at 50, or segments in 25 unit jumps I cant remember exactly, but they have perfect UV map so the edges and top match up, otherwise you cant get the grid lined up, let me know if you want them as it will take me time hunting them of an old hard disk

I notice on this image
http://www.noelshack.com/2013-18-1367582949-fpsc-game-2013-05-03-14-03-53-94.jpg
they are not aligned, that will be your UV map, you must have it right at the edge so the mesh fits the full UV corner to corner, to get the grid perfect it needs perfect UV, I zoomed right in close to get mine, took a long time getting perfect segments with perfect UV map, if they are not perfect they grid doesn't align, also you will get error of different sized segments with different thickness of the grid lines, if you have faults in the segments like I see in the image then you are better using my meshes.

Your stairs also look not too good, you need the glow lines at the edges of the verts in the model, to do this, in your UV map program export the UV map and have it show the models edges in the UV map texture. That way you can see where to put the glow lines, you can do this for every mesh.

I hope you dont rush this, take your time, because its simple, and uses geometry, it has to be perfect otherwise the errors glare out and it looks bad.

Ill also note the banisters that are just plain black need a texture.

Not to forget :

This is a Beta dude

I made the video only to have an early preview of what we are able to do with this pack

Also you aren't going to learn UV Maps to us trust me

But I agree about the stairs, but it was made along time ago for fun, I don't know why I put it in this video lol.

About this screenshot :
http://www.noelshack.com/2013-18-1367582949-fpsc-game-2013-05-03-14-03-53-94.jpg

That small passage was made only with entities, not segments

We're working on cool stuff.

We'd like to use a "desintegration" effect when the enemy dies (just like the MEDUSA monter from bond1's viral pack), but also on a fun effect :

If the enemy spots you, a "!" appears above his head, and overs the game.

We also want to make an animated sky (not sure yet), which can be cool for the Virtual environment.

We'll keep you posted !

That's nice, everything is matched up on the grid on the tunnel inside, which is good. I was fearful you would not get that right. I notice on the lift some grid alignment problems on the inner opening to the door with the grid not aligning. Using models is perhaps harder than BSP game modelling in some other engines

We're very strict with the quality of our pack.

I assure you all the pack won't be released until everything's perfect

We are working on the pack seriously and will do our utmost to make it popular!

To date:
60 segments (blue)
network of corridors
elevators (with glass doors)

Additional equipment provided:
the same but different color (green / red)
doors, windows, cutters ...
entities, overlays and decals
and other selons ideas (we're more on the creation of the pack)

And in agreement with the head of the pack, it will be free.

If you please, we are already thinking to propose a future pack at a very attractive price (for the money, we do it with pleasure and to be noticed, appreciated).

I am responsible for the pack (with another member).
We worked hard on it, ca would be a shame not to finish it!
So my friends say as above: we keep the pack and should be completed in June.

Salut, les frites!

This pack looks really interesting so far ...but... I think some "holographic orbs" are missing.

They could be really big and spin and have text on them. Could be an objective or center of a level.

Not a request, just an idea

Best luck on further development!

The country fried it would rather belgium, even though France is like eating chips!
But I prefer 'chips' that 'frog' ... and then I do not eat frogs ...

Obviously we expect a U.S. release!
