Does it? Only you can deside that. If your going from a straight Catholic point of view, then yes, but considering how many problems the preists have have with alter boyes, I don't take them very seriously. From a purly God perspective, I can see no wrong in being Athiest, you're not worshiping some other god so you're not breaking any comandment there. God gave us all free will, the ability to choose our our actions, so how can he disaprove of you using your brain, as long as you remain to be a good person, you should be ok in God's eyes. Basicly the consept of good of bad is highly personal, what's ecceptable to one may be a sin to another.
