Well i have been playing halo 2 all weekend. I wasn't sure how good it was until i realised that on saterday night, i finally decided to go to bed at 3 am! I had been playing it since 8:30! I think that maybe says what i think of the game. I mean ok, it might not be as WOW as doom 3 but it is still the best and most enjoyable game i have played in a good long while (then again my pc ain't powerful enough to run doom 3!)

But halo 2, wow, tis sooooooo good! i can't wait to finish work so i can go home and get back on it. (although it might be a good idea to give my Fiance some attention! With all this halo 2 playing i think she might be mad with me, oops!)

Its not a bug, Its a feature

If we were meant to stay in this reality games would not exist!

Well I have most of the major FPS games on PC, Call of Duty, Doom3, BF:Vietnam etc etc - and I rank it way above them.

I'm not sure why it generates such vivid reactions from people who dislike it - I mean, I have little time for FF games, but I would'nt waste my time posting about how much better Halo2 is than it. If you don't like FPS games or you don't have an XBox, then Halo2 is not for you! - if you do like FPS games and own an XBox, then the chances are that you'll love it.

BTW, we should all post our 'Fun things to do with Halo2' stories.

I personally like to play tiddly-winks with the Warthog wheel trims, just get near them and melee and they flip up. Start up a 2 player game with 2 hogs, and get the trims off them, 3 each is fine. Now find a good target, and see who can hit it first with a trim. The level with the giant turbine turning all the time is great for messing around - fill the turbine thing with junk and hogs and watch them get mashed .

one of the funnest ways to kill a enemy(or two) in Co-Op is this...

Slap a plasma nade on your buddy's back and have him run up to the enemy

(we discovered this sort of on accident when my friend slapped a nade on my back without telling me then said "run"...i ran right into the enemy and blew them all up...but i was kinda peeved that he blew me up so it degenerated into a kill each other war after that...as in i would re-spawn and hit him in the back then he's respawn and hit me in the back...ect..eventually we had a long line of dead bodies)

love running people down with the hogs.. or alien ships..

I found that jumping when you're about to get smashed by a vehicle will help you in not dieing, but won't help you in not getting pushed off the map

Ohh, throw a plasma nade at an oncomming Ghost then jump over it - it's the sorta move that'll get your marine buddies excited.

Fun thing:
Seeing how many of you mates (not team-mates ) you can kill before dying, while insulting them. Even better try to get multikills. My best is 7 kills in a row.

The greatest kill I ever witnessed...I was the victim. My two good friends are telepathic when playing Halo/2. We were in Beaver Creek and running around in front of the base. One threw a grenade behind me so I ran forward but then another popped out from behind a rock and smacked me so I was knocked backward into the grenade explosion. Doesn't sound like much but when you actually see it it's pretty cool. Then there's the one time where these two dudes were banshee dueling and in midair one jumps out of his banshee and jacks the other guy's banshee.

I just found out something really cool though. Martin O'Donnell (the main Halo music man) is a genius. I was working out the Halo theme on my piano for kicks and giggles and I found out it was written in a jazz scale, E Dorian. Suhweetness. (So that's why Steve Vai can solo so good to it!).

Hehe, on the MP level with all the conveyor belts and containers - you can nade one of the containers so it comes off the belt, then push it back on again so 2 containers try to get down the chute at the same time. I did this yesterday and managed to get 2 wedged tightly - like nothing would budge them. All the crud comming down the chute get's blocked and you end up with piles of rubbish clanging together making a racket. It only really works the first time, but anyone your playing against will investigate the noise, and have a closer look at your handywork - at which point you snipe them in the face .

I think Half-life 2 or Half-life 1 can easily beat many other action games, because it is of a high quality and isnt just action or puzzles - its a great mixture of both. Accusing this game of being poor in any are just screams out: "I dont understand the storyline, so I'm determined to not enjoy it" Try making a game like that, and then see if you complain.

gotta love the trampeline, especially when you jump backwards into it off the top ledge, attacking your chaser the whole way, and throwing grenades like crazy^_^

The thing I like is fighting two enemies with SMG in right hand, Plasma rifle in left. The first bloke dies easily (but with no shields as they are both attacking you, you have no chance). The second bloke closes in. Then you double press y (get out Energy Sword) and run him down

The Halo music is nice, but when you compare it to Nobuo, well it sounds like crap, I'd have to say he's the best there is for game music, I'd swear I could here someone humming To Zanakard and go
"Hey! That's the Final Fantasy 10 theme song!To Zanakard by Nobuo!!!"
Too bad he's left Square Enix...

Yeah, he's forming his own music production company thing.
I heard it on Pulse, on
G4TechTV!!!!

Also the mastermind behind Final Fantasy is leaving too.

Looks likes Final Fantasy is soon going to spiral downards in the same that Sonic and Laura Croft have.

Yeah, it's getting harder to care about old game heroes, because the games are all the same. I mean - the last TR game was nothing like the long intellectual games that were so original and cool. Sonic, well I quite liked Sonic on the Dreamcast, but really Sonic should be a retro character now, retire the little dude from next gen consoles, and leave him for the GBA and mobile phone 2D games, where he belongs. Same for Mario.

Personally I'm looking forward to the next batch of Duke Nukem stuff - he has personality, Master Chief has none - he's like the dude from Unreal2, a fairly corporate idea of cool. Cortana (the hologram from Halo2) is a good character this time round, love the little one liners, but I can't even think of anything MC says. Dukes a filthy mouthed sexist dinosaur, and we love him for it .

Heh.. just a thought.. I love taking that flying alien ship, and just going bursurk on my opponent trying to ram him at full speed, and slamming against door ways spraying bullets at him and trying to get into the small rooms where you can't nail him but can try and spray him with bullets... Not very effective but any observer always goes "holy ****"

I liked the bit when you had to jump onto the Scarab and blow the hell out of the elites and then (after losing all my rockets) do the same with grenades. After that use a combination of smg and plasma gun and a energy sword to take out any (lucky) straglers
