No!

Although they do, fairly platonically, kiss once. Yurgh

Quote: " Anyone think lucas would make a episode 7?"

He used to say he'd make 7-9 and that the series was meant to be 9 episodes... now he's saying it wasn't, and he isn't going to.

Frankly I think if he has any worries about his health he's smart to not try to undertake another 7-year, 3-movie endeavor.

Never mind that he can't write dialogue for crap

There's a way for jedi to leave an "imprint" of themselves though the force (or something) that only skilled jedi where able to do, thus becoming a "blue glowy", this is why some jedi vanish when they are slain and others dont.

Didn't Yoda say he will teach him to communicate with his former Master? (Who's now dead I guess)

The movies have pretty much completely disproved the inconsistent reality of the books. I'm actually glad Lucas chose not to regard them as most were written by truly abysmal writers (there are some nice exceptions).

I believe the first book after episode 6 is "Truce at Bakura", but I hated that book and preferred to read the ones that weren't really placed in the timeline, i.e. the "X-Wing: Rogue Squadron" series was excellent. "The New Jedi Order" is a long way after the last movie but that's also a very good series, in particular "Vector Prime" was incredibly creative. There's also a few miscellaneous books such as "Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina" which are awesome, all about Bounty Hunters . Kevin J Anderson is usually one of the better Star Wars writers so look for his work.

Also, I noticed one disappointing difference between the books and the movie/games/etc is that the books describe Kashyyk (the Wookie planet) as being covered in huge trees that extend kilometers above the ground and that no one's ever reached the surface because it's cast in darkness, however, the games and movie all take place on the surface of Kashyyk. I would've loved to have seen a planet where everything takes place in the tree-tops, oh well.

Pretty sure yoda mentions something about the secret to immortality through the force but I could be wrong

Was like that in the movie because of deforestation by the trandoshans apparently, or out of lazyness of the special effects guys, either way yes it was dissapointing

Just saw the movie yesterday... must say it seemed a bit rushed, you know? I mean, com'on, Battle With Count Douku in Second Esisode: 20mins. Battle With Count Douku in Third Episode: 3min, ended by a cheap shot. The opening battle sequence was too out of place for me, the least they could have done is show us the war room with the overview of the battle. So they're standing there, the general says something dispairaging like "his formation is too strong, there's no way we can penetrare through before he makes the jump to lightspeed." And then Mace Windu can say something about Obi-Wan and Anakin so we have a vauge idea why they're doing what they're doing.

There was too many boss battles too The rouge droid general, Douku, the Emepror (times 2, one battle with Mace Windu and once with Yoda) and then you have Obi-Wan vs. Anakin tossed on top of all of that. The Emepror vs Mace Windu struk me as being a battle of cheap shots, too IMHO the best swordsplay was in "Return of the Jedi," you could actually follow what was going on. After that, the battle with Darth Maul in the first movie... the music had me half out of my seat in that battle

Kashyyk really dissapointed me I mean, it has 9 seperate ecosystems, right? Only the bravest wookies venture below the 5th level, like Chewie did for his mate (couldn't remember her name, it was in the books that had the begginings of Han Solo's life). The farthest anyone had gone was the 3rd level, and they never returned. For the battle to take place on the forrest floor is a serious oversight on George Lucas's part The one good thing about the battle is when the wookies swing down to the droid tank--if you listen closely, you can hear this tarzan yell!

Quote: "X-Wing: Rogue Squadron" series was excellent"

Yes yes yes yes yes! That series rocked! I own all 9 of them and have read them more times than I can remember

And what becomes of Naboo? It's never mentioned after ep.3, including movies, games, flash movies (yes they count too ), books, etc. Something (rather sith like, I'm afraid) makes me wish Anakin had killed Jar Jar in this movie Like he does in the "Stick Wars" movie:

Jar Jar says "meesa Jar Jar Binks!"
Anakin screams this yodel and kills him
"I'm sorry master, I couldn't help myself "

After having said all of that, it was a good movie It tied up everything perfectly for "A new hope", including introducing the Titantive IV (I think that's it's designation, not sure) with captain Antillies. The only thing they could have done to seal it in my mind was to have M-3PO ("Emtry") talking with Captain Antillies Emtry is the military protocall droid in the "Starwars: X-Wing" series who says, upon meeting Wedge Antilles, "Hello Commander Antillies. I am [insert marketing speel here]. I am most pleased to meet you, and I hope this arrangement comes out better than my previous master, Antillies." Emtry served the captain of Titantive IV up until he died by the hands of Darth Vader, you see. (they're both named Antillies, for the slow ones out there. No relation, however)

Watch it again, I would... enjoy it, I might...

He threw all the book-canon out the window for the movies.

Kashyyk was actually one of the neater planets detailed in the books though, that is a shame

While were on the topic of general star wars, and since this is a site about "game creating", has anyone played the Episode III game? And alos has anyone played Star Wars Battlefront (its awesome!! )

Video games…they take you places unreachable, unfeasible. Putting you in the book...putting you in the movie...putting you in a world, that before could only be imagined. expage.com/piratesmainpage.

Yes, wasn't it great that Jar-jar was hardly in it We watched all the Star Wars movies on projector during the last week before going to see ROTS. A friend of mine kept going ballistic (with delight at Jar Jar, copying the voice and everything; she loves him) during ep1. We almost killed her. Thank god he only really had one line in ROTS. Shame he didn't get horribly killed though. I mean esp considering what Annie (dum dum de dum da de dum dum... you had to grow up in the late seventies really, and that wasn't a link to Star Wars....) did when he became evil, rather than just a jumped up little tosspot. Although I had totally forgot that New hope has Luke acting just like a total tosspot ("It's NOT fair!!!!") much like his daddy. Dammit...

Ang on.... fuggit... Even the StarWars.com databank has nothing on Jar Jar's death. Nothing!!!!! Lets all concentrate on him being dead. C'mon now, "I believe in Jar Jar's death". That's the spirit... what was that URL with like 1000 Jar Jar deaths?

Hmmm. Interesting... Anakin Solo eh? This databank is quite interesting.... makes me wonder why I never read any Star Wars books (read just about everything else). Hmmm...

Cheers

I just saw it, and thought it was slightly better, but not as good as could have been expected.

I felt it was simply too long, too full of (good) CG and had too many fights. It did have it's moments however, but they were pretty far between.

An improvement, but not great.

Ok, I broke, and saw it. Much better than EPII. Much better than EPI. As for yoda mentioning the secret to immortality...he, erm...uhmm..DIES! So if he knew something like that, wouldn't he put it to use? Also, I though I was going to see some sex in this movie, what gives? AND it was pretty sweet when

Immortality doesn't mean you have to physically exist, they were immortalised in the afterlife, hence they can communicate as the blue ghost thing.

One thing I find a little odd in this movie is when he says:

which kind of denotes him being evil, sound a bit too much like:

stated by a modern politician. Just sounds alot alike to me...

I just realized a rather noticeable mistake in the starwars series from this previous movie.

Padme gives birth to leia and luke and dies while doing so...

Yet in the later(older) movies, Leia says she remembers her mother and says she was sad or something like that, this being impossible because Leia would've never known her mother.

Not her true mother, her adopted parents (Senator Organa), hence her name: Leia Organa.

That´s on the 6th one. She says she only remembers colours and emotions of her or something like that. She could have confused what her adoptive parents told her of her mother with what she remembers of her mother.

I only saw it the other day and overall thought it was a pretty good film. The line
by Obi Wan near then end was pretty good, quite emotional, in a desperate sort of way.

The lightsabers look a lot better aswell. There's a lot of close up shots of them and compared to Ep 4 when Luke first gets his lightsaber they look a lot better.

Was a bit confused about why the clone troopers looked so much like Jango Fett but just realised it's because they're clones.

I thought Ep 2 was okay, some bits of it drag but way better compared to Ep 1.

Can't wait 'till it's out on DVD, gonna watch them all from beginning to end.

Thought Darth Vadar looked taller than he does in the others, maybe it's meant to be realistic but it just didn't look right.

p.s. Half way through I was thinking "I'm more confused now then I was at the beginning." It wasn't until Padmei named her second chiled Leiha that I rememberd about the whole brother sister thing.

A response.

hehe, cool, they shouldve

I still dont understand why, in episode 4, Obi Wan dissappears when Darth Vader kills him, and also why he just lets Darth Vader kill him .

Obi Wan lets Vader kill him because he wants to be able to guide Luke through his journey no matter where either of them are. Also Vader had no real reason to die in that scene and if Obi Wan killed him that would of prevented(or at least delayed) George Lucas from making a sequel and elaborating on an extremely cool character.

You're thinking of the annoying brat from Episode 1, the very first release of Episode 6: Return of the Jedi, had a completely different actor for Anakin as the blue ghost at the end, however, because we see Hayden Christensen 'become' Darth Vader in Episode 3, the older ghost of Anakin from Episode 6 would never have existed. Hence, that actor was edited out and replaced with Hayden.

i don't think they should have that "younger" ghost in there...if the ghost of obi-wan and yoda both look like obi-wan and yoda did when they died then so should the ghost of darth vader (a old bald dude, would be more suitable) it makes no sense for the "ghost" to take on that form of him...

as it is, it's very inconsistent...

Lucas said why this happened. He said that because he was the chosen one and was at one with the light side when he died he is able to come back as his last pure form (Before the suit)
