ya always were
I'm gonna take a strange turn of events here and agree with you though.
The moderators (or rather a select few, they know exactly who they are!) have been taking measures a bit to far recently.
It is just the 'new' moderators as well. Although it is all well and good to haven a more strict forum if it's going to keep the peace, providing it with a friendly place for all. Simple fact is, all it's begining to do is create aggrovation between the users and the moderators (as a whole).
I do firmly stand behind the original comment I made when the new moderators were brought aboard, saying that I hope that the age of most of them wasn't going to be a problem. Yet it is the younger moderators who are cause many of the issues.
I don't know if it's just that they're now out of school with nothing to do, or that the summer makes them crazy.. can't say I particularly care for the reason. Just know that life around the forums is getting frustrating to a few users.
I mean if you look, someone moaned about Renegade posting every silly thought that poped into his head as a new post; while I admit that was annoying as hell. Indi then did the same with several news articles from a single Macintosh site.
They could've all been easily compressed into a single post called 'MacNews' or something.
Not very many people around here (in-fact most of the time I think it is just me and Indi really) who care about what happens in the Mac world. They're never going to get huge responses, so having them in seperate threads is a little wasteful.
I'm not actually defending Renegade behaviour, hell I wanna garott him with his damn BT cable; but my point is that you can't really play favouritism as this really ticks people off. It also shows that moderators aren't being fair, they're only going after people they don't like. So what sort of message do you think that puts across to new users?
It puts across the whole 'suck up to the moderators or you'll be in trouble' mentality. It then starts a whole class difference and blah blah.. well you get the idea.
Definately a far cry from how the forum started off. imo
