Why? We won the first innings and had a massive total in the second + all our fast bowlers (minus Jones obviously) were on fire.

I love all the "We" and "You" stuff in these sort of sports. As if you and I actually have anything to do with it at all. The player haven't played the game for you - they've played it because they enjoy the sport and the money.

Why people get so patriotic about sport when the guys you're getting behind may or may not be nice or pricks, is beyond me. I'm pretty sure Warney is a bit of a big headed nob, and no doubt Freddy will soon become a complete wazzock in the limelight also.

I just think it's interesting how you can get behind a bunch of people you dont know just because they come from your country. This is especially evident in footy where 50% of the players genuinely are over-payed self-important dick heads.

I really like to see a good sportsman do well, especially when they're a decent person. I don't link myself to them and support them because I come from their country.

.. just my take on sport, seeing as how people seem to be getting a little patriotic in this discussion.

Cricket and its players is no where near like football.

Most players in Cricket will stop and talk to you. They can be in the Pavilion with their wife's and they will be about 3 meters from you. Now in football the players think they are holyier than thou. They are overpayed and big headed. This new sudden onslaught and support for cricket is excellent and great for the game however, we (England) need to make sure that Cricket doesn't become the new football.

Don't get me wrong I like football but most players are overpayed. Cricketers get peanuts compared to footballers.

If there were no rain interuptions, there would have been no need for Australia to push in their first innings, which was what got them out. Not to mention, the conditions suited the bowlers massively.

Also one of the best leg spin bowlers there is. I don't really care whay they do off the field. Flintoff is a bit of a mad dog, but that's expected.
