I love all the "We" and "You" stuff in these sort of sports.
As if you and I actually have anything to do with it at all. The player haven't played the game for you - they've played it because they enjoy the sport and the money.
Why people get so patriotic about sport when the guys you're getting behind may or may not be nice or pricks, is beyond me. I'm pretty sure Warney is a bit of a big headed nob, and no doubt Freddy will soon become a complete wazzock in the limelight also.
I just think it's interesting how you can get behind a bunch of people you dont know just because they come from your country. This is especially evident in footy where 50% of the players genuinely are over-payed self-important dick heads.
I really like to see a good sportsman do well, especially when they're a decent person. I don't link myself to them and support them because I come from their country.
.. just my take on sport, seeing as how people seem to be getting a little patriotic in this discussion.
