TDP I am very disappointed in the way you have handled yourself in this thread. I thought better of you, especially for leading the MMORPG thing. You've gotten mean... project not going so hot?

To everyone else. What the heck? Flindiana asked a question and now gets flammed by people who have nothing better to do than pick on the lower income people. Have some respect. Have some honor. *shakes head very disappointedly*

on the contrary, its going great.

@Flindiana, i would suggest runescape, plenty of players, and it will eat up your time pretty fast.

No prob TDP. I understand. I honor the fact that you saw yourself that way and changed. I'm glad to hear the game is going good.

@Flindiana - I'm not sure (maybe other forum members can help me out) but there has to be a turn based game were you make your move then press a button, which sends it over to the other player, then they make their move and so on. This would be easy on the modem seeing that it doesn't have to update positions of both players so often.
Another thing you may want to check out is some of the email games you can play, where you send a email showing your position/move/stats/attack and then wait for your opponent to send you one back. Googleing Email game might work. Hope that helps.

I am a fully certified, 100% bona-fide 56k user.

As such, yes, it does suck to be me. Especially trying to play HL2M.

(Wham 'W' (forward key), wait 5 seconds, watch it jump forward, random death by rocket, watch other guy glitching across floor. Click respawn, randomly lose all guns, randomly regain all guns, press forward, randomly lose all guns, randomly regain all guns, get blown up by guy with rocket launcher.)

Part of the 'Emergency Response Noob Shooting Team' :: Feel free to add me to MSN, but don't expect any big favours.
I AM _NOT_ A MOD, I AM ONLY HUMAN (although I fly in my spare time).

I commend you for actually reading that far back b4 posting ur response. I must make a correction to that statement, almost everyone in the civilzed world has internet. I really feel sorry for you if you feel you accomplished something when you pick out a comment that is politicaly incorrect, then call the person who wrote it an idiot, your turn:
Quote: "They don't have running water but they still have a trusty 56k modem."
My 56k modem was not "trusty", as it failed A TON on me.

Quote: "They don't have running water....."

Who are you refering to by "they"? Certanley not me or my neighbor, or anyone else that lives within a 150 miles of me, be specific.

Idiot.

I don't suppose a MUD would be of any interest?

They are text based, but there are hundreds of free ones, most different kinds of genres (fantasy/sci-fi, combat/rp, cartoon/real etc), and dialup would not be a limitation in any way.

Depends on whether you need funky graphics for your multiplayer online roleplaying game.

Well, here's a link to a directory of MUDs - over 1700 of them.
http://www.mudconnector.com/
I recommend you click 'Listings' and 'Listings By Category'. There you'll find all the MUDs arranged into groups like 'Manga', 'Newbie Friendly', 'Historical', 'Sci-Fi' etc.

A MUD (Multi-User Domain) is the oldest kind of multiplayer online roleplaying game. It's like a multiplayer text adventure.

They are critisized for not having graphics (though, there are some 'Graphical MUDs' out there, if you look.)

They are praised for letting the players imagination have more free reign.

Much like in a book you can have amazing things without having to worry about special effects budget, so to in MUDs you can describe fantastic places and scenes, without worrying about graphics cards or framerate.

And finally - if you like MUDs, there's always the opportunity to make your own - either in DB or with some of the free engines. In fact, making a MUD in DB would be relatively straightforward

TDP Enterprises, when you are older you may re-read threads like this and will be overcome with embarassment and shame.

There is NOTHING more annoying than arrogant little twats who think they are intelligent but are actually just making bigger and bigger tits of themselves with every thing they do.

Aims for the future:
- Go away

And for the record, yes, you are an idiot, and no, I am not.

Good luck in all your Enterprises.

Idiot.
